Stock Radio - Volume issues

I have a 09 corolla ( just picked up) and currently in the morning there's some radio volume issues. the volume is erratic. When I try to tune the volume in the stereo it hits about 8 - 9 and goes back down and back up again. It happened this morning, but after turning the radio off and on a few times the issue went away -- could it be a relay? anything with the radio's programming.

I might take it to the dealership to have it taken a look at, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem in the past with the 09 rollas.

Does it vary with your speed? Could the speed controlled volume be set too sensitive for you aka on 'high'?

Just wondering did you check the "ASL" is it off or on?, set Low, Med, or High
This can be accessed on the Right Knob, Treble, Bass, Fader, Balance & then ASL

the Auto Sound Level is used to adjust the volume level during driving speeds,

ASL is off -- the volume level is adjusting like it won't go higher (turning the knob will not raise the volume).

I'm having volume control issues as well. Mine was OK for the 1st month and a half (about 1,000 miles on the odo), then the volume would sporadically become non-responsive. I haven't taken it to the dealer yet. I waiting for it to either become permanently broken or when I have a big enough list of other broken stuff to justify a trip to the dealer.
