I live in Florida where it rains all the time and I get sand in my car from the beach, so I was thinking of purchasing all weather mats for my Corolla S because the carpet/plastic thing on top moves around too much and sand/grass are gets lodged on the sides of the carpet all the time which are an eye sore. Does anyone have experience with the OEM Toyota all weather mats vs the Weathertech ones?
Go with the Weathertech digitech mats. There going to set you back $100 bucks, but they are worth it. I surf and mountain bike and I think they are a great investment for my LE in keeping her clean.
I have the factory OEM rubber all weather mats I think they are great i like how they say Corolla on them. They are easy to clean. sometimes in the chicago winters i've only gone threw one the mat gets a little filled with water from all the snow. I keep them in my car alll the time they fit perfectly i got mine on Ebay for 70ish
this may sound stupid!! ...but.. when you put in your all weather floor mats check (with you engine off) to see if your gas pedal is going to get stuck on the treads of the floor mat by pushing the pedal all the way to the floor...
about a month ago i pulled out to pass a slow moving truck in my xrs along with another car in front of me, my gas pedal jammed on the floor mat tread in 4th gear, in the short (but frantic) time it took me to get my foot under it to pull it free i had nearly ran into the back of the car in front of me and had picked up speed to about 150-160... ended up redlining the engine! i have since shaved the treads on the floor mat off under the gas pedal... just one of those one off flukes

OEM mats are not that great. They're quite expensive.
The driver side mat don't cover the entire floor area. They end underneath the gas pedal so you will get dirt around the brake and gas pedal area. The dead pedal is fully exposed.
They're also quite thin and flexible so you'll have ripples on the front passenger side and they're really not deep enough to trap snow.
I use my old "pant saver" mats from my previous car and they fit perfectly and does a much better job.

I have the OEM mats and vouch for the drawbacks listed above, especially the poor coverage.
Unless you have to have "COROLLA" printed on your mats, I'd go with the Weathertechs... they're superior in everyway, just not OEM.

When I got my OEM all-weather mats there was a tag zip-tied to the mats that cautions NOT to install the all-weather mats ON TOP of the cloth mats for that very reason...
my stock carpet mat on the driver side already has a hole in it where the heel of my foot goes! how cheap! is this covered by warrenty??
I think the OP was referring to the all-weather mats in this post/thread...
Continuing with the hijack, as for a warranty claim, it would depend on if the mats came with the car or if you put them in afterwards - 12 months regardless of mileage from the date of installation on the vehicle or the remainder of any applicable new vehicle warranty.
WEATHERTECH mats DO NOT fit if you have a manual transmission. The dead pedal size is different from the one on the automatics.
Believe me, I love their stuff and called and talked to them about it. Also they are NOT going to make ones that fit the manual either. A big BOOO for them.

i wouldn't think it would be covered. last time i checked wear and tear isn't covered under warranty.
dude....i got the toyota mats, really happy with them, i've tried all sorts of other mats and so far these have worked out the best for me and they fit really good....specially for the drivers side since i've got the manual .. trust me other mats will interfere with ur pedals....for all the other sides doesnt matter what kind of mats u get, but for the drivers side u have to see what actually fits.
