If I replace my stock audio system, does it void the warranty?

I have 1000 watt amp and sub that matches. Then I would replace the rear and front speakers myself, leaving the stock wiring. I would also replace the stock stereo with a 9886 Alpine, doing it all myself.

Does that void the warranty?

It "may" void the warranty for the chargig system and wiring associated with the radio.

Now the facts are that most amps GREATLY exagerate the watts they put out.... but if it were 1000 watts continuous, you'd be drawing 83.33 amps. Watts divided by volts =amps. 1000(watts) divided by 12(volts) equals 88.33 amps. How many amps is your stock alternator?

Realistically, you'll never use that much power and that's also a fact. Further, most guys put a HUGE capacitor in that delivers the amerage for peak amperage use (like base thumps). You might also want to consider a heavy duty alternator, and of course separate monster wiring goes without saying.

How much amerage you actually use will depend on how loud you play it. My nepthew has a monster system in his car, and if the cars not on, the battery is dead in 2 hours.

Now, its 1000 max. I think the continuous is like...500w. Its rated for 300w at 4ohm, or 500w at 2ohm. Which I wired the sub to 2 ohm. But, I don't play it max volume all the time. When I listen to the radio for example, the bass is alot less then when I listen to a CD.

The speakers are each rated at 100w rms. So thats another 400. (Or I can put in 85w ones)

Then the head unit itself.

I used to have the same stuff in my 91 Honda Accord, and my battery never went dead. (Even if it sat for 3 days)

As far as the Alternator, I have no idea what it is. I have the Toyota S model, if that makes any difference.

if you are concerned just contact Toyota or your local dealer and ask? none of our opinions here will matter if it voids a part of your warranty that you may have to fall back on down the road!!

well, I did contact Toyota. It only voids the radio part of the warranty, nothing else. Which makes sense. How can they warranty something thats not in the car? So it appears its all good.

FYI the local Toyota dealer looked up the 2009 Corolla alternator and told me it is an 100 Amp unit. There was no factory option for a higher amperage alternator.
