Will Corolla ever come in ivory leather interior?

I have written Toyota a letter and have contacted their customer service at least a 1/2 dozen times over the past three years with this same question: Will any of the Corollas ever come with an ivory leather interior? Now that the 2010's are out, we know it's not going to happen in 2010. Now I'm hoping that the 2011's might come with this option. Having had a 2000 pearl white Solara with leather interior, I realize that this color scheme but in the smaller Corolla would be my ultimate car, especially if it came in a 5 speed. But so far... no luck.

I don't think they will...Toyota did offer ivory leather as an option for the 2003-2008 Corolla LEs, at the time LE's were available with the 5-speed. However, most of the LE's built then were automatic with cloth interiors. Obviously, this is because the combination DOES NOT SELL, and most buyers are budgeted minded. The only Corollas available now with leather are the S and XRS, and only in the charcoal color.

Yes, I have had to come to the conclusion that this combination of an ivory leather interior on the Corolla simply wouldn't be a big seller. And to wish that the ivory combination also came in a 5 speed really would be asking for a lot. Right now I am a cargirl without a favorite car, that's for sure. Honey, I wish they could have shrank my Solara to make it the size and shape of a Corolla.

I am a Toyota Product Adviser and I do not think there will be ivory leather any time soon. In Canada 2010 is the first year that leather has been available (and my leather xrs is on the way!!). Part of the reason for not having the optional leather is because of the popularity, but it would be popular in beige and white. One main reason is the Corolla competes with cars like the Civic, Cobalt, Elantra, Sentra, etc. and in this market some features are limited, but more are being introduced like smart keys. The Camry obviously offers it optional interiors because of the class it is in.


Have you ever considered having a company put leather into your car? They do some pretty good work. Check out Katzkin leather interiors for example.

I have thought of going this route, but for the beige leather to match the dash and door color scheme, I would have to buy a base white Corolla with the lighter interior since I am looking to purchase a 5 speed. I'll look forward to hearing how you like the leather in your car. Maybe I can "switch gears" and rethink the preference for a lighter, preferably ivory leather interior.
