Yeah I got another 5 speed manual transmission with the Jetta S. Originally I was going to be getting a VW Rabbit 2 door with the 6 speed auto, however the Rabbit 2 door has less seat adjustments and cheaper fabrics along with no armrest. So for a couple $ more, I got a Jetta S with a 5 speed manual to get the better seats, 2 more doors, and the armrest.
The Jetta seats seem to be good so far after a couple days and 200 miles. They definitely have more support (almost too much), and are more adjustable in useful ways. I have not found the perfect seating position yet, however my back feels perfectly fine when I get out of the car. The Jetta has a ridiculous amount of leg room to go with the seats as well. Also the armrest in the Jetta is very soft and adjustable, WAY better than the hard plastic Corolla turtle-shell armrest I had. The whole Jetta interior feels made with much nicer, softer materials to be easier on the eyes and hands.
Other than that, the VW <-> Toyota comparison is pretty much what you would expect. The Jetta has more power, more features, firmer ride, and is not put together as nice as the Corolla is. By that I mean I have a few things in the Jetta that are not lined up perfectly for interior and exterior trim pieces, while my Corolla was flawless in construction.
