Just removed my all weather mats

Considering the new recall (mats getting under the gas pedal). I Just removed my all weather mats (non oem) which were a bit longer than the carpeted ones.

I am happy to say that the carpeted ones could not get under the gas pedal when secured to the built in fasteners.

geez who would ever imagine!

hey at least we corolla owners should not be part of this recall!

Read the news again...Corollas ARE NOT part of the recall. So much for needing new floor mats.

I did read it ....Apparently the thought now is that the accidents could have been caused by the WRONG floor mats (longer) then were supposed to be in the car...rather be safe since my after market mats were long enough to get under there if they moved...My fault, not theirs (so the oem carpeted ones are back in!)

Right now they are just not sure but i know we are NOT part of this recall...Thanks

My OEM all weather mats are fantastic.

They have a tag that says do not lay them on top of the original carpeted mats.
