What's your A/V setup?

I think I'm addicted to car head units. I pretty much do a swap every 6 months. Currently I'm enjoying a Clarion CX501. Great unit. In the past I've had the pioneer app radio, the stock head unit w/ GTA iPod hookup w/ Sirius. I've had and in dash Kenwood navi unit, and an old dual flip monitor unit.

W/ my clarion unit now i'm rocking two hearest monitors hooked to an external DVD changer. I've got a kicker amp and sub in there as well.

Anyone else addicted? what's your av setup?

ps superchargerm2 post your Rosen, I love pics of that beauty.

Also what tints have you thrown on your windows. I like a slight tint. Not too dark.

I'll play

Here's what I am working with.

Eclipse AVN62D. Touchscreen navi.

This is about 30 or 35% tint. Looks darker because the cars parked in the shade.

What dash kit is around your radio? I've never found an exact match. I've tried 3 brands all seem a little off. Nice setup!

Here is my current setup. Pioneer dvd/navigation

I'm looking to add rear flip down monitor for kiddos. What are you guys recommendations?

I thought about doing head rest but I like the option of making the interior look more plain when the screen is not in use.

I originally wanted to use ipad as just a monitor, as I could easly take it out for security, but as of right now, you cannot use it for that.

I'm open for all ideas!

Refurbished $300-$500

New $800-$1000 is what they can be found for.

Money Money.

I do love how well it blends in though. Nice and stock looking.

Maybe I should get one of those instead of suspension modifications.

How does the OEM looking head unit sound? Also how are the maps? Are any better or worse than say other navigation system maps? Those units have a 7" screen?

What is a good brand for a headrest screen or flip down screen? Also does anyone know of a active thread that talks about car audio/video? It can be for any car? Trying to do my homework on them before possible pulling the trigger.

I own the original Rosen corolla navigation system and a Chinese knock off. I prefer the chinese knock off over the rosen.

Here are my pros and cons.

Rosen Pros
1. Factory Color matches, both the actual item and the lighting
2. Sound quality is great, though not as good as my 3 year old Sony head unit. I have A/Bed them.
3. Navigation loads on startup, so when I press the nav button, I don't have to wait
4. Very good documentation and support
5. Build quality is superb.

Rosen Cons
1. Screen too small
2. Impossible to upgrade without the jtag programmer. SInce I have the older Rosen, it also requires soldering and formatting a new ROM
3. Graphics look really bad IMO
4. Expensive!!!!
5. Navigation can't be updated
6. Only takes up to 2 gb sd card.
7. I have to buy extra cables for accessories and these are pricey!

Chinese Unit Pros
1. Large 8 inch screen
2. Vibrant colors and high quality HD display
3. I can load software from SD cards
4. Navigation can be updated
5. The User Interface is beautiful
6. Sound quality almost as good as the Rosen.
7. All necessary cables are included for accessories

Chinese Unit Cons
1. No support whatsoever
2. The steering wheel controls are kinda flaky. I get the expected response probably only 9/10 times. This kind of thing should be perfect
3. Only takes micro-sd card.
4. Slow, while it takes up to 32 gb micro sd card, it takes forever to load whatever is on them.
5. The color is a little off, and the lights don't exactly match
