Can't see the stupid knob

Hey guys, quick tech question.
Does anyone know if the knobs for our a/c controls are plug and play?
I noticed that the light is out on the center know (fan speed) and I'm so dang OCD that I can't ignore it. Besides I'm always fumbling for it at night so it would be nice to see it.
Attached is a really bad pic but it gives you an idea of what it looks like
Position knob works and glows but the speed knob does not (although the defroster light works) Will this just be a part of the plug that came loose or am I going to be looking for a cut/pinched wire? If I need to get to behind the knobs do I just pull on the knobs and they pop out or do you remove the whole faceplate and assembly?
any and all info is appreciated
thanks in advance

Bulb Part Number:

(You'll need to remove the entire assembly to get to the bulbs in behind).
