Well, my fan blower motor started dying on me the other day. The fan wouldn't come on with the HVAC controls, but if I left them on, and banged on the bottom of my blower motor, the fan would start back up. Well, that worked for all of four days, then the motor just wouldn't turn very fast at all (even on high). I pulled it out, kinda sorta cleaned it, and plugged it back in. The wires and plugs were all fine (some slight browning of one of the plugs, but nothing significant). So...

Here's the wierd part. Holding the fan where it would go, the fan was very slow as before. I turned the fan facing down, and it sped WAY up to normal high (I assume). Strange. I don't think the wiring is an issue as i manipulated it every way I could to see if they are craked or otherwise compromised. No changes, except when the blower fan and motor are turned upside down.

My guess...yup...the blower motor is shot for whatever reason Time for a new one! I wonder how long I haven't been getting the full force of the fan? I briefly thought about upgrading to a 4Runner or Tundra blower, but I will check with Toyota to see if they fit, but I think the T100 blower is model-specific. Anyone else know for sure?
