Curt Hitch On Sale

The curt hitch is on sale for 63 bucks and change right now at amazon, it's been steadily dropping the last few days. I had been up in the air on whether I wanted to get a hitch or not, but I couldn't pass it up at this price. Get em while they last!

That's a great price, but you can't put a full size spare under the vehicle with this hitch. Just something to remember, and maybe why it is offered cheaper.

Grrrrr.....

I bought that hitch from Amazon in Feb for $134 right after buying the HL and just got around to installing it this weekend. Should have waited...

That's a great deal.. about $50 less than I paid 3 weeks ago. But I still saved hundreds by getting this for 115 and installing myself. Dealer wanted 600 to 700 and they were not even installing the OEM hitch. Do new Highlanders even come with a full spare? My 2010 did, but my 2017 did not.

Beachguys, I've heard some Canadian Highlanders have full size spares. My 2017 XLE did not come with one, but after having a flat the first week, I bought a steel wheel on Amazon, got a tire off of Tire Rack, and I now have a full size spare. I'm considering a Trailer Hitch myself, but know from Etrailer that the Curt hitch won't allow room for a full size spare.

Do you have a link to the hitch on AMAZON? I came across several class 3 hitches when I searched "curt hitch highlander"

Looks like amazon ran out of them, and the price is back up at other sellers. Here's the link if you want to keep an eye on the price to see if it dips again: https://www.amazon.com/CURT-13200-Cl...rds=curt+13200

Also, you can set a price alert at camelcamelcamel.com, I often do that for things I want but don't need immediately, very handy.

Does this hitch interfere in any way with the 17 XLE exhaust system? The image from Amazon shows the hitch pretty close to the muffler's exhaust.

I have this hitch installed on my '17 XLE and it does not interfere with the exhaust.

Nice! I like that the rear bumper doesn't have to be modified in anyway.

Too bad it's back up in price. Think I'll keep a watch on it.

Right, it's not a premium alloy wheel, it's steel, ya, but full size or so I was told (at least on my Limited Platinum). I haven't actually inspected it closely or removed it but the salesmonkey said for a vehicle of this size, for safety reasons, it can't be a Mickey Mouse. I traded in my LS and that puppy had a full sized premium alloy spare. Was also told (by another make's dealer) that Gov (CAFE?) regs are driving all vehicles to inflater kits now. Fix-a-flat? No thanks.

My BMW came with ran flats. As soon as they wore out, I got regular tires. Thankfully there was a OEM temp spare kit available. Down side is there was not real location for it, so it just sits in my trunk.

Yep, just got wifey an X3 and hers came with run-flats. Between you, me, and the interwebz, I paid 10 grand less for the Limited Platinum and it's far better equipped. BSM on the X3? Extra. Cooled seats? Nope, you have to get an X5, simply NOT available on the X3. Adaptive cruise? Nope. Lane keeping? Nope. And while hers rides far sportier, I'll take the HL, TYVM. I just traded in an LS 460 F-sport, 8 speed paddle shifters, almost 400HP, cost nearly twice what I paid for the HL, no regrets. OK, yea, I do miss Brake Hold, what an awesome invention. And yea, I miss smoking peeps off the line, man that car was fast. But damn, I got 30.4 MPG going to work today, and my first tankful I averaged 25.7 on 87 octane. The LS required 91+ and averaged 18 MPG. Sure, driving gently I could coax her to 30+ but who the hell can drive a 380HP car gently? I'm loving the HL, even though it "only" has 295 HP, but man, a fillup for under 40 bucks with a super comfortable ride and I can carry mulch? Win.

Edit: Wait, forgot about the damned heated steering wheel. Seriously, you get an //M and you CAN'T get a heated steering wheel? Platinum HL FTW.
