I just made a deal on a Shoreline blue/Ash AWD XLE set for production April 28th with an ETA May 28th, since it was far enough out in production we were able to add the trailer hitch/wireharness to the production order. I did give them 3 color options SB, PDM, AJM, with seating for 8 and ASH interior they didn't have any coming in with those specifications any earlier then mid May-what's up with that? We are not in a huge rush anyways and this gives us plenty of time to sell our vehicles.
MSRP $39,388 - includes all weather mats and cargo liner, rear bumper protector, trailer hitch/wire harness
Invoice $36,615 -includes destination fee $860 and toyota regional dealer ad fee $778
Price Paid $37,615 + $130 DMV + $199 dealer fee + $495 winterize(I live in interior Alaska where you do need to get this done to your vehicle either at dealer or somewhere else or DIY) = $38,439 out the door price.

We are also eligible for an additional $500 military discount if we finance through TF, we will see what the interest rates are like at the end of May-I am hoping we luck out and they will be running a Memorial Day sale with special interest rates!

Truecar.com does include the destination fee and the dealer regional ad fees and the invoice price above reflexes both. The dealership did confirm on their invoice the regional ad fee they are charged. All in all I think I did pretty good. I dealt with the Internet manager and straight up from the beginning told her I wanted $1000 over invoice, which is what she gave me no haggling-I'm thinking I should of started lower but it's a small dealership with only it's sister store 6 hrs away so it's not like I have a lot of options to shop around! Very easy, very pleasant experience.

Trim: 2014 Highlander Limited AWD with Driver Tech Package. Alumina Jade Metallic exterior with Ash interior.

Accessories: Running boards, All weather mats & cargo liner, remote engine start, carpet floor mats & carper cargo mat, body side molding, tow hitch and harness and paint protection film.

MSRP: $46,186
Invoice: $42,181.24(Includes $860 Dest. Charge, Gas $13.24 & $750 TDA)
My cost: $42,181.24 + $181.50 title & dealer admin fees = $42,362.74

I use the Consumer Reports True Car pricing service. The dealer agreed to sell the car for the "Estimated Price." Full Disclosure: I have purchased many vehicles from this dealer including the 2010 Highlander I'm currently driving and the 2010 RAV4 my son drives. He knows what price I expect to get. There is very little negotiating any more.

Dealer only wants $4,024 down and $400/month for a 36 month lease on a 2014 Highlander XLE AWD. Toyota is pretty proud of that new model.

Did you read the thread on the starter limitations?

And is the $2550 for your trade in, or an actual discount?

I would take that out of your equation, then. It's not a "discount".

And the factory starters, IMHO, suck. They have a very limited range and they shut off the car forcing you to restart it before you actually get going.

On the lander I bought this same car plt awd remote start + steel bumper protector body side moldings the premium ornate and cargo protector my msrp was 45650 ish walked out the door for 41300 so swing that your short 1000 in options roughly I would offer 39000 and settle around 40000 to 40500 that's roughly 9.5% below msrp just my opinion others on here have argued that I don't leave enough dealer profit but hey I'm the one that got this deal so... Then after you get them around 40000 take off the 2550 trade that should be its own separate figure bit part of the overall negotiation for purchase of car

Also got other dealer adding at no cost ie edge guards and front window tint just saying

I can barely fathom people are paying nearly $45,000 for a new vehicle with TTL included. That is quite a chunk of change for nearly anyone. I about broke the bank when I paid $28,000 for my new Honda Ridgeline in 2008.
