agreed, it seems like suv prices have risen a lot in the past couple years. i remember back when midsize suvs could be had for under 30k out the door loaded

you spent $28,000 during 2008 recession, significant collapse in business investment and sharp cutbacks in consumer spending and you are blaming people for spending $45,000 now ?are you serious ?

Yes, that is just the reason I got the Ridgeline for $28,000--well actually $27,100 after the wheels for life adjustment (the dealer knocked $1,000 more off the price if I took the wheel promo and then I promptly cancelled it for a refund of $900.) The MSRP on the Ridgeline was $35,500. I did not think $8,500 was a bad discount. You are right about the recession--those prices have not been seen since. You will not find a Ridgeline RTL for any less than $32,000 right now. That was the first vehicle I ever bought new. I paid $33,000 for a 2012 Tundra Crewcab 4x4 with MSRP of $40,800. It just seems like the Highlander is pretty expensive.

I am not blaming anyone--it's their money and they can spend it anyway they please. The stock market is rising artificially and people generally feel good. I am just saying $45,00 is a lot of money for a ride. Even if I could get rid of my Santa Fe and buy a Highlander (which incidentally I think is a great vehicle) I would limit my spending at $35,000.

My neighbor has spent over $100,000 on two Mercedes and I don't give him any grief.

Sorry, but I was not kidding. Just one normal man's perspective. Have a great day.

Then after you get them around 40000 take off the 2550 trade that should be its own separate figure bit part of the overall negotiation for purchase of car

Also got other dealer adding at no cost ie edge guards and front window tint just saying

There is no possible way, you could have walked out the door with a HL, AWD plus options for $41300. That is just BS.

This great guy who is a dealership manager sent an invoice out the door $43400 all inclusive except for $150 DMV fee

Is this a great, good or fair deal ?

43400 otd all inclusive that included tax? Or plus tax? if that number included tax you beat me out of the water and my deal just got called bs.
