Yes, that is just the reason I got the Ridgeline for $28,000
you spent $28,000 during 2008 recession, significant collapse in business investment and sharp cutbacks in consumer spending and you are blaming people for spending $45,000 now ?are you serious ?
--well actually $27,100 after the wheels for life adjustment (the dealer knocked $1,000 more off the price if I took the wheel promo and then I promptly cancelled it for a refund of $900.) The MSRP on the Ridgeline was $35,500. I did not think $8,500 was a bad discount. You are right about the recession--those prices have not been seen since
. You will not find a Ridgeline RTL for any less than $32,000 right now. That was the first vehicle I ever bought new. I paid $33,000 for a 2012 Tundra Crewcab 4x4 with MSRP of $40,800. It just seems like the Highlander is pretty expensive.
I am not blaming anyone--it's their money and they can spend it anyway they please. The stock market is rising artificially and people generally feel good. I am just saying $45,00 is a lot of money for a ride. Even if I could get rid of my Santa Fe and buy a Highlander (which incidentally I think is a great vehicle) I would limit my spending at $35,000.
My neighbor has spent over $100,000 on two Mercedes and I don't give him any grief.
Sorry, but I was not kidding. Just one normal man's perspective. Have a great day.
