Directed (DEI), the company that makes the 369D, is also the parent company of Viper. The Viper 130XV is virtually the same thing as the 369D. No worries there, good stuff.
Installing a remote start/KE is not that difficult -- it is similar to wiring a stereo; it's just that the wires you're cutting/splicing/soldering are vital to the operation of your vehicle. However, with that said, it will take you a good amount of time to install. You'll want to set aside the better part of a weekend to get the job done if you've never done this before.
