Has anyone tried installing a rear-facing child seat in the center position of the rear seat? If so, is there enough room for two adults in the back seat too?
The Corolla's rear seat is actually quite large - as large as many mid-size cars. I know the child 'LATCH' system is only in the two outboard rear seats, but I assume the center seat belt can be used to strap in a child seat designed for an 18 month old child. Assuming the child seat can be strapped-in the center position - is there enough room remaining in the two outboard rear seats for two small frame women on either side of the installed child seat?
During a planned trip out-of-state I plan on picking up some family members at an airport that have an 18 month-old child. They'll be bringing their child seat with them, and we (four adults plus the child) will be traveling about two hours to our destination in the Corolla. Or, at least that's the plan! I'm wondering if this is doable...
