This is not a fair comparison. The Chevrolet Aveo is a cheaply made Korean car whose sales argument really only is the low price. They didn't have near the same budget for design, safety, materials, and fine tuning in general as Toyota or the European competitors for that sake.
Kalos/Aveo will get a refreshed front later next year, but you should still compare it to the other Korean and Chinese minis.
(What most people fail to see if they buy such a cheap car is the resale value which combined with the worse fuel economy and less reliable nature makes it more expensive to own in the long run)
The Aveo is a stinking heap of Korean junk. The Yaris is a beautiful masterpiece, with heaps of quality from Japan. YARIS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>av eo

Watch what you say 84 Cressida, them are fighting words for us fellow Koreans. Also, I've said it many times, yes Korean cars aren't as great as Japanese cars. No comparison, but they improved a lot and not to mention, they only been around for 20 years. Japanese cars? They've been building cars since the 1930s. Not to be an ass, but watch out what you say, you might hit a nerve.
Aveo's arn't that bad, I drive them daily..The Interrior is nice..Gauges are in the right place...never driven an Echo.Yaris so I can't really comapre. But Don't bash the car..It's a good car for the 13k CDN you pay.

, specially since I looked at an Aveo in person a few months ago and they look far nicer in person. They're quite cute, and I wouldn't mind having one for around town. But I still don't like those rims shown in the picture above.

Yaris.. GM has proven to be unreliable, regardless of Korean build or not. (Eg. H2 lower control arm failure, Corvette C6 serpentine belt failure, Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon brake issues)Hell, I'd take a KIA over a GM Aveo. The new Sportage is not that bad. The Amanti is.. ehh... somethin'. The rest are boring Hyundai.. well... I hate Hyundai but I know they own KIA so it's ironic.. ah well, that's life...
The Yaris interior blows away the Aveo, and the Aveo can't hold a candle to the Yaris in performance, fuel economy, or handling...for those of you who won't get to see or drive Yaris in person until the springtime, they are even better in person than the media pictures suggest...Us Canucks have them now...
