Toyota's September output up 0.3%

Toyota Motor Corp. (7203.TO) said Monday it lifted its domestic production in September by 0.3% on year to 339,572 vehicles, marking the first rise in four months.

Toyota's domestic sales declined 7.4% to 153,710 vehicles while its exports grew 1.3% to 181,889 vehicles. Its overseas production was up 22.6% at 331,534 vehicles.

In the first half ended September, Toyota cut domestic production 0.2% to 1.80 million vehicles, Nissan's production in Japan was down 2.7% at 692,971 vehicles, and Mitsubishi boosted domestic production 11.5% to 316,670. Suzuki' domestic output in the six month period rose 2.9% to 535,696 vehicles.

One word of note: when they say "domestic", they are talking about production numbers in Japan, not in the US or Canada. Were talking JDM.

I did not realize taht Toyota had such commanding sales in The Japanese market also. I knew they were the number 1 manufacturer in Japan but not by that much.
