Will have an all-new twin-cam V8 engine (probably 5.5 liters) and producing greater than 300hp. It should be one of the most powerful Japanese-brand competitors. A hybrid gas-electric variant for model-year 2008.
Watch for it January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit!
It goes into production in early 2006 at an all-new assembly plant in San Antonio, Texas.

No, it is the concept. It will be released in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. In about 3 months. This is the concept, it will use some of it in the final design. But i hope this is not the official Tundra, its not that nice looking.

Thanks, I saw the pic and was taken by surprise. I also, am not a huge fan of the concept. I hope the production model looks much better, kinda incorporating some elements of the outgoing Tundra.
5.5L, 300 hp. THANK YOU TOYOTA! Finally, they are giving us a real full-size truck.
As for that pic, thats the FTX. I like it, but its too radical to be the actual production model.

Actually, to me the front end of the FTX is very handsome, but I hope the new Tundra will use the grill, hood, headlights fromt the concept, and a mix of the double cab Tundra with lots more room than the Dodge Mega Cab, and not to mention a very powerful powerpland, and Toyota gots a bunch of people driven their F2-350s off cliffs.

Will they Sequoia be able to compete against the Ford Everest? I hope the 2007 Tundra powertrain will be put into the Sequoia. (5.5L V8?) and at least 300 hp
"There is no reason that Toyota couldn't sell a diesel-powered small truck in the US. Unfortunately, there are strict emissions regulations that do make it rather difficult to bring diesel engines into this market. A diesel engine for the next generation Tundra may be considered for the US market, though. But don't tell anyone. It's a secret."
-Quoted from Toyota's PlanetKaizen, Questions from Out There - Washington
A heavy duty Tundra would be exempt from a MPG figure, just like all of the other high GVWR vehicles are.
From all indications, the new Tundra is gonna be a looker!!! Im sure Toyota will be able to get a diesel engine ready for the US market as Im positive the sales will come.Toyota diesel engines are unstoppable!!!!!

^Yeah, but they'd still scoff at a toyota, even smoking they're piecer chevy, dodge or ford in the quarter mile and towing. We all know they'd say that it is a commie japanese vehicle and will never last. Dumbasses.
Let's go Toyota!!!
edit: I must say though, I have a little soft spot for ford products though. I love my 73 continental mark IV.
