What will that mean for TRD cars and trucks? First, it will likely mean you can get parts for current Toyota cars and trucks instead of the past models represented in the TRD parts lineup now. Best of all, it could mean an AMG/M/SVT-style vehicles.

It would be nice if the would go the route that the other manufacturers have gone with their performance divisions like SVT, AMG, BMW-M, and others. Even Chevrolet offers almost every vehicl they sell with a SS version. IT seems as if everyone has gone the route of taking their vehicles and at least offering a more performance oriented version of it. I can see it working of several vehicles in teh Toyota, Lexus, and Scion lines. I can see how the Camry, Corolla, pretty much all of the new Lexus models, Tacoma, and the tC could use a more performance oriented version and would probably sell fairly well. People would like to be abel to buy a Toyota that is somewhat more performance oriented and still ge tthe quality a nd reliability that comes with purchasing a Toyota.

Exactly! That's the only reason I bought a Honda Accord v6 over the camry in 2001; handling, Traction control/side airbags. Am I really happy with the Accord? Not really I wish it was a Toyota if you know what I mean... 3 transmissions in 140,000km (80000mi), you will understand why you don't want a Honda Accord . If only the Camry handled similarly or that the SE model really upped the handling to out-do the Accord.

I think you hit the nail on the head, Cyorke!
Its high time that Toyota have special, "TRD" versions of their models to compete with the SVT and SS models that Ford and GM offer.

Well since they are getting rid of all their sports and sporty models, the Supra obviously, the Celica, and the MR-S. They need to ahve something. Yeah I know they have hte XRS line of matrix and Corolla but it would be nice to even take that one step further. If I rememerb right you can actually buy some of the SVT stuff from a website or at your dealer, shich is similar to what TR has been doing in the past but why not jsut have it all done fromt eh factory where someone can come in a dbuy what they want right off the showroom floor and not have to wait for it to be installed. There are a lot of people that would love to have a higher performance car but dont have the time or know how to build it themselves. And as this forum proves there is definitely a market for performance oriented Toyotas. Whether they be trucks, SUV's or cars.

Well I hope they make it exclusive. AMG used to be exclusive on certain key models (e.g. C-Class, SL-Class) and were supposed to be special. Now, they're available on every model (even the ugly G-Class) and they come out at the same time as the new model come out. There's also the AMG Sport Package for ricers who want the look but don't wanna spend the money on the REAL version. Frankly, AMG doesn't mean anything any more. To me, it just means a more powerful version and that's it.
The Celica TRD Sport M was a good shot but we need more! But the moment they make a TRD Sequoia, we know something's wrong.

I don't know about profits but the problem now is that the drug dealers are just spending their money on AMG models. They're so many now that it's not exclusive any more. The hand-built engine with a stamp is meaningless to them.

TRD and TTE (Toyota Team Europe) should collaborate a lot more. The TTE products I've seen are far more aggressive than TRDs. If I'm not mistaken, there are some TTE badged vehicles in Europe (like the Corolla, for example). I forgot what the emblem looks like though.
Most people agree that the Europeans manufacturers exude performance and handling. Having TTE around would certainly be beneficial. Some Toyota cars can use some Euro flair.
TTE also has the only ISO 9001 certified aftermarket parts manufacturing facility in Europe, IIRC.
What about Australia and their Sportivo designs? I want that TZ-1 Camry! (I think it was called the TZ-1.. it's that red one at the Sydney Auto Show!!)

i'm pretty sure trdusa is a direct distributor for tte now. cause they have the link on the trdusa site with the japan one. where we have the yaris coming would be nice to see some of those parts come this way. europe also has a 2 door corolla hatchback still.
