Toyota To Introduce All-New Camry for 2007

Camry to Go Way Upscale in Performance and Refinement

The news is out! One of North America's favourite family sedans is about to be significantly updated, according to several major websites. Japanese website Auto Gallery Net reports having correct factual information and several undisguised images of the upcoming Toyota Camry. U.S.-based website Edmunds.com, in its www.insideline.com division, amongst other sites, is also featuring the findings on Toyota's staple family-mover.

The biggest change to the Camry comes from its exterior styling. The anonymous looking styling has been injected with a dose of 'Vibrant Clarity', Toyota-speak for their new design language. Canadians, and later Europe and America were introduced to Vibrant Clarity with the all-new Yaris subcompact; the upcoming RAV-4 and, according to these photos, the new Camry will also possess fresh styling trademarks in an attempt to shed its staid, boring image.

cool. the site in your link says...

"...A revised DOHC 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine will deliver 167 horsepower (in Japan trim) compared with 154 hp for the current U.S.-spec car, and it will be mated to a new five-speed automatic transmission...."

Isnt 154 hp A step down from the current camry? why the large dispariy between the US spec and the japanese spec?

what is being said is that the new 2.4L 4 cylinder engine will offer 167 hp as compared to 154hp that the current 4 cylinder offers. (as the US spec CAMRY has not yet been announced they can only talk about the engine output of the JDM camry.

You are right. I guess my reading comprehension is a little off today.

Is the torque figure the same? What's the new SAE torque figure for the current spec?
