It must be one of those things that gets lost in translation. Perhaps in Japan they arent aware what BS is.
Its kind of like the Japanese word, "manshon". It means, "a small house." However, if someone were to ask you if you lived in a mansion, you'd think they were asking you if you live in some huge, extravagant house.
