Imp gal is approx 4.54 Liters versus the U.S. gallon which is accepted as 3.78 Liters.
It makes enough of a difference to know that conversion, or else the figures can be quite stunning!

That's why I put Imp. mpg in in brackets cause I figured some people would get confused

No info on the hybrid yet.

Wow, this is a BIG jump in features compared to the gen 5 Camry. Gen 5 didn't even have standard side or side curtain airbags.

Now Gen6 gives us standard side, side curtain, AND dual knee airbags? Hyundai eat your heart out . Plus optional smart key/push button start, bluetooth and rear sunshade on the XLE? Wow, that's getting REAL close to the Avalon. Hopefully when Toyota freshens the Avalon they will further add features to differentiate it from the Camry.

Suddenly the Sonata seems downmarket .

The I4 and V6 Camrys may possibly have best in class fuel economy! From the looks of it, the V6 gets even better economy than the Avalon, which already gets commendable economy. And the I4 economy looks to be improved from the Gen 5.

What's bad for the competition is that they all benchmarked the about-to-be-gone Gen 5 Camry, and some of them matched it overall. But the Gen 6 looks to be quite a better car, and that leaves the competition yet again behind.

I love how they have a 6 speed auto, 4 wheel discs standard on ALL models, and my dad will really like all the standard airbags.

So the next generation Camry is better equipped than the first generation Lexus. The fuel economy is what interests me most.

Looks like Toyota is getting serious about competing with the standard equipment. One wonders what the price will be? I'm guessing it will go up, hopefully not too much, but fingers crossed. Has anyone heard about pricing yet? i know its hard to find out until last minute when the car goes on sale. They might mention it at the 2006 L.A. Auto show? Otherwise sounds like a good deal!

For 2006 Model year!
Not much improvement on I4!

Also, what is 6MM?

Yes, I also wonder what is 6MM. In the temporary absence of an authoritative answer, I quess it means a six speed automatic gear box which can also be shifted manually. Manumatic?

It's a 6 speed Manumatic transmission. It has a mode where you can shift like a manual, or drive the car like an automatic.
