The bulb size for the low beam and fog lights are H11. This kit is actually very easy to install however it is recomended to put the car on a lift as you need to work under the car to get access to mount the ballasts (box that ignites the bulb). YOu also have to be sure you DO NOT touch the bulb itself. If you do then you have just damaged the bulb and it won't work. I can provide step by step instructions if need be. Its fairly easy.
Thanks a lot! If you can provide the instruciton that would be very helpful to me.
However, I may not be able to put the car on the lift because I don't know anyone who has it (like the one in the service store). And you mention to mount the ballasts under the car? Does the user manual tell you how to install it step by step?

I just put a down payment on a black se v6 yesterday, so I really appreciate this info.
I do have one question about the HIDs though - which replacement bulbs do you plan to buy when the ones that came with the kit go out? I noticed that the bulbs that come with the kit are 35w, but I couldn't find any other bulbs that were 35w, only 55w. Would they work fine even though it says they consume 55w, or what?
OK guys, I have a few HID questions also. I do all of my own service work (up to a point) and consider myself a "car" guy, but I have never had a vehicle with HID lights and do not know much about them. I have a new 07 Camry XLE V6 and I am interested in this kit also. So, at the risk of sounding uninformed, I have a few questions:
1. On factory installed cars with HID, are both the low beam and high beam HID lights?
2. The owners manual for my 07 says that the high beam lights are Type "A" and they
are HB3 Halogen Bulbs. It says the low beams are Type "B" and are H11 bulbs. It
says the fog lights are also H11 bulbs.
3. So, when you buy these kits do you just change the low beams, or just the high beams
or BOTH ?
4. If you change the low and high beams would you need two kits or can you run two sets
of lights (4 bulbs) with one kit?
Now, what about the housing (reflectors?) the bulbs mount in? Are they not designed for the type of lights that they come from the factory with? Will putting a HID in these cause problems with "aiming" and or glare etc. ?
Maybe these questions will help some other HID "dummies" also. Thanks.

You can change both if you want and even the fog lights but that would require 3 sets of lights and there will be no room to mount the ballasts.
4. If you change the low and high beams would you need two kits or can you run two sets

You would need 2 kits

[b] The new camry's have projector headlights so they can accept HID. However they aren't set up for HID since they don't come factory with them. But Fitment, alignment are fine.

Anything that you find that are 55w are NOT HID bulbs. Those are regular halogen bulbs. Keep in mind that there is no filament in HID bulbs, it is a gas. They won't burn out for a very long time. The only time you should need replacement bulbs is if they get cracked or dropped or whatever. Replacement HID bulbs cost anywhere from 80-160 bucks depending on the size and where you get them.
The wheels on the XLE is 215/60/16. Do you think I'll have any clearance issue with a set of 225/60/16? The reason is I already have two (2) extra sets (snows and summer) of 225/60/16 from my existing car and it would be a bonus if I can use them. They are in very good condition.
If my existing 225/60/16 will fit, that would help me decide against the SE's 17" rims. Currently, I am undecided between the SE V6 or the XLE V6.
Koons Toyota in Virginia has put some 19" or 20" Chrome rims on 2 of their in stock Camrys and tinted the windows. They look horrible IMHO. Not the rim/tire combo, but the big shiny chrome just doesn't fit on the car. I like the color matched one that were posted here, but I will probably put silver painted 18"s on my Blue Ribbon SE for the summer.
I'll try and snap some photos this afternoon to post.

Has anyone else driven a manual transmission model yet?
I drove a CE manual today, and the clutch had almost no travel to it and grabbed instantly. I stalled the car 4 times because of it.
not to be mean, but i think he was just stepping on the gas normally and not even flooring it..
sorry.. but good try though...
Appreciated your sarcasm, but I'm not quite so sure. Well, you have to be there to make a judgment call, but then again only I (and the old dude) was there so can't say anything about "proof." The argument isn't really whether he really got beaten by me or not, since I've already claimed that the Magnum with Hemi would have wooped my Echohatch so bad if it's a competent driver behind the wheel. BUT, and this is a big BUT, is the fact that the old dude (whoever reading this please take note of this word ---->) TRIED to (not so much race me but to) NOT LET ME go in front of him as the 2 lanes merged into 1, and FAILED to do so.
Last but not least, I need NOT TO justify this so-called race to ANYONE. Frankly though, the Echohatch is NOT for drag racing, but it's much more suitable for twisty roads.
0-60 time is more for bragging rights. The new 3.5L is definitely way more refined and is much more powerful than previous generation.
7.1 sec seems slow compare to Avalon and Rav4 times, which posted low 6s. But considering a new sporty Civic Si does it in 7.3sec...Camry doing 7.1 sec to 60 is more than respectable. I dont think anyone is gonna complain that the new V6 seems slow.
but 0-60 times in the 6.~ 's is definitely much cooler for bragging rights.
What good are bragging rights, when regular drivers can't replicate such numbers on a consistent and daily basis? If you want bragging rights, stick to showing off horsepower/torque figures instead. 0-60 times are an ill-perspective way to judge and compare cars. For example, the new Bugatti Veyron can do 0-60 in 2-point-something-seconds, and same times can be achieved by a Formula-1 car. But in reality, the Veyron is a MUCH MUCH FASTER car than an F1 car on a straight line (not corners).
0-100mph times would yield a more sensible picture. But then again I don't expect many people here to agree with my POV, since most of you are just regular drivers
^^^ Anyhow, let's get back on topic. I'd just wish that people would think before they speak, and be a little less ignorant, that's all. But then I'm asking too much with such wishing thinking.
What I'm interested in knowing is how many big luggages the new Camry's trunk can hold comfortably? Is the trunk space very similar to Gen5's? My parents' Gen5 can fit 2 large-sized luggages (guessitmated at 3.5'w x 2.5'h x 1'deep each volume-wise, actual size may vary) side-by-side within the trunk well, and another one on top of those 2 comfortably, allowing the trunk lid to easily close shut. What I'm interested in IS NOT actual volumetric numbers of how many cubic-feet of storage, but how many pieces of luggage of different sizes and shapes can be squeezed into the trunk well, with the trunk lid closed.
Why I'm asking is because the Camry will usually be used as a long distance traveller, going on long trips for vacation or whatever. I wonder how much it can haul.
Back to the subject of speed I drove a Lexus IS 250 AWD today and I thought it was very quick.
I really liked the power.
I thought I was driving the 350 at the time but was shocked when I checked the back it was only the 250!
I was zipping that thing all over the place, I had it out about a half an hour.
I was shocked that it's only rated to do 0-60 in 8.3 seconds!
If the Camry and the ES do 0-60 in 7.1 seconds or less I personally think these cars are very quick and more than fast enough for all but the most extreme driving.
