i think you are right. I wouldve liked it to be rear wheel drive but unfortunately they cant get near that territory because of the GS and I think that is why lexus have them.
Too bad that teaser pick seems to show that it will have the same ugly back end as the first pic!! Ewww....
I think it's way too early to say what the back will look like, that chop photo should NOT be any indication. Those chop photos should never have been put out as fact in the first place.
The photochop shows a close-but-not-correct rear end. The lights angle down, similar to IS style rear lights. There is also a SWEET dual exhaust. The dual roof is also SWEET. What is cool about this new ES is that it has similar GS, IS styling in the front, but there are touches of "ES"-like details, like the headlamps stretch further back then the IS, and sort of "hump" up/outwards like the current model. This is the first ES with the Lexus logo on the grill. Big change. The interior is nice like the new L-Finesse interiors. The mirrors are big just like the IS. I would even say they are the same part. Trunk does not have gas struts. Has available laser cruise like the GS. 6speed auto.

The true is two top sellers (3rd and 2nd place) ES, Acura TL are FWD. I think AWD are more welcome than RWD. FWD+AWD ES350 will steal alot of sales from Acura TL and RL at the same time.
LOL yeah, not sure what SE is supposed to mean. ES350 will already be top of the line luxury, unless you mean SE as in an upgraded performance package. IF that's the case, yeah right lol. It sure would be nice if Lexus developed an AMG/M type of branch, but they won't. Too much emphasis on luxury still.
