With all the excitement surrounding the recent introduction of the new LS 460, GS 450h, and IS, one could be forgiven for wondering if other Lexus models—like the ES—have been forgotten. Hardly. In fact, the ES has been completely redesigned as the 2007 ES 350.
Like other redesigned Lexus models, the new ES 350 sports what the chief engineer calls as “confident” new look, thanks in part to a wider stance and wheels repositioned closer to the vehicle’s corners. The ES 350 has a larger wheelbase and a wider track, both of which help enhance the vehicle’s handling and increases the interior space.
Designers also equipped the ES 350 with an array of new Lexus features, such as the keyless SmartAccess system with push-button ignition, the backup camera, Bluetooth® technology that gives drivers hands-free cell phone access (with compatible cell phones), and options such as swivel headlamps that turn with the road and a DVD Navigation System with the latest graphics and points of interest.
Under the hood, a larger 3.5-liter V6 engine, complete with Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (VVT-i) for maximum engine efficiency, produces 275 horsepower—a 50-horsepower increase from the ES 330’s engine. The vehicle also includes a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shifting, which improves overall vehicle performance and fuel efficiency.
Enhanced safety features include driver and front passenger knee airbags, a direct-type tire pressure monitor, and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction Control. Plus, options abound--leather seats equipped with the Lexus Memory System, a glass roof, a power rear sunshade, and heated and ventilated front seats. (Most of these items will be included in a new ultra luxury package). Look for the 2007 ES 350 to arrive in dealerships this spring.
I hope you all notice the double moonroof in the second pic. SWEEET!
This ES makes us all bite our tungs for sayin harsh crap about the ES' Seriously the outgoing model was a mistake on wheels. Looked like a boat with camry styling. This one looks sexy from the front but im not liking that lil tiny image of the back.

This is how the ES should be. It looks just as stylish as the 97-01 version. I don't know if I like the steering wheel. I probably have to see it in real life but the spoke pointing downwards seems like they took the design out of some beautifully crafted sword. It just needs a crease down the centre lol.

Why is half the instrument cluster mirrored? Compared the left and right sides. Also there are 2 cruise sticks and two black retangle things, kinda fishy to me.
That picture was just photoshopped to present a more full view of what the full interior might look like. The right side of that image is the actual image which appeared in the magazine.
Toyota's poppin' the clutch on their designs. I guess they figured that they have so much cash, they might as well take some risks. I don't blame them. They've been conservative for tooooooo long. I do know that I miss an MR platform and a two-door sports coupe (Celica.. if you want to dub it that). Is the Toyota Chaser still being made? I'd love one of those bad boys... Mmmmmmm
Wow Bluesman. Those pics are wonderful. The 3rd pic took me for a spin because it made the back look really ugly. Then I opened the 4th pic and my opinion totally changed. Nice car. Finally Lexus! This is the 1st time in the history of Lexus that I would proudly drive their entire sedan line-up from the IS-ES-GS-LS...especially the LS!
Very nice looking. I don't know if I'm feeling the rear but maybe when more pictures come out official or not I might warm up to it. But certainly a good improvement over the current gen. I agree there is some Acura RL in there (the front) but it may be just the angles.
