Kinda looks like a Ford and Dodge front end to me sort of got that shape. I wish they would put a 5.7L in a Tacoma 4x4 that would be nice.

Having a regular cab, double cab and crew cab makes no sense to me.

The double cab, which has the same seating area as the current access cab but with pillars, is a waste of time for anyone who wants to fit adults comfortably in the back seat. Ganted, I'm used to the size of my F250 Crew, but these seats are still too small compared to the competition four doors.

The styling is great. Much beefier stance than the current, but it still holds some of the current appearance. They had the current a few feet over to compare with.

The rear end and axle blows away the Titan, and the rest of the undercarage looks impressive and substantial.

The 5.7L engine is impressive and BIG.

The dash is moden looking and looks OK. Lot's of large knobs. I didn't pay as much attention to that as other things.

The front seating area has plenty of room, and the center console is large and high, not narrow and low like a lot of others. This makes it much easier to lean on while driving.

The only probelm I see with the Crewmax is that to get the rear seating area larger, the Toyota guy said they're shortening the bed to 5.5 ft. I thought they were going to have a true 6.5 ft. shortbed with the crew. This is a big disappointment if it's true. The glossy I got from my friend says that there will be a double cab with an 8.1 ft. bed. Wouldn't that chassis support a Crewmax with a 6.5ft. bed? I think (hope) he's wrong.

I took some pics but they're in my camera and I don't have an easy way to get them off right now. I usually use my regular digital camera but forgot to bring it.

BIG CHANGE IN PLANS!

So I went to the dealership to talk about the car show and Tundra with my friend, and while he was busy with a customer I walked around the lot. BIG mistake!

All of a sudden I see this car that looked drop dead gorgeous. Silver with dark gray leather, moonroof, ground effects, dual exhaust, very muscular stance. It was a freekin' 07 Camry SE V6! So my friend gives me the keys and I take a ride. Next thing I know, I own it!

My family and friends think I'm nuts! I've been driving trucks as my main ride for 20 years and swore I'd never own another car. But this thing knocked my socks of and I have no regrets.

Unfortunately, I took ill the day after signing the papers and spent the last 10 days in the hospital. I haven't even driven the car yet! My wife took delivery and parked it in my garage for me, and there it sits. I may not be able to drive it for a few more days.

So, I guess I'll have to move over to the Camry forum!

Maybe my next car will be the Tundra...

Thanks a bunch.

http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/...7-tundra_x.htm This seems to be the first info on the Tundra Crew Max. The recorded video of the reveal can be seen here. http://www.toyota.com/html/das/dastu...NDRAREVEAL_IMG

^Read the article. Truck doesn't sound impressive at all, nothing jumps out to me as a "raised bar." It's just a true 1/2 ton competitor now, but that alone should greatly increase sales.

Toyota says Tundra can tote up to 2,060 pounds. Again, that's the regular cab. Extended- and crew-cab Tundras that most people will buy haul much less — 1,465 to 1,755 pounds, according to Toyota.
For comparison: Chevy and GMC crew cabs give you back seats and nearly the same payload as the Tundra regular cab — 2,010 or 2,039 pounds. Ford says a specially equipped version of its F-150 regular cab is good for 3,020 pounds.

This is off the article posted by msm2003. Thats a surprisingly LOW payload, I thought it would be more. Impressive engine and tranny though, hope it sells.

This pic makes the Hilux resemble a smaller version of the new Tundra (chrome side mirrors, chrome door handles).
I like the 4runner front end better than the Tacoma or that Hilux...but it's not bad at all.
