growing giant, with its products doing land-office business everywhere in the world and its stock price on a steady climb.
Now comes the news that Toyota has just passed even Wal-Mart as its stock price hit an all-time record Friday and its market value climbed above $200 billion.
A portfolio manager quoted by Reuters news service said he saw "nothing negative you can point to with Toyota." The news service noted that Toyota is now worth more than twice the combined value of DaimlerChrysler, Ford, and General Motors in terms of market capitalization.
What this means to you: Toyota is going to start taking fire from all those folks who love sniping at the top companies. With leadership comes responsibility.
And everyone thought Wally World was King.

mmhmm. As much as I like Toyota to expand and grow, I hope they're taking note that the bigger the company, the larger the internal problems and communications.

I wouldn't worry about Toyota's leadership taking missteps; their biggest problem will come from backlash and the "tradition" of bashing people/companies on top (e.g., Microsoft, Wal-Mart, etc.).
