Not bad, I was expecting higher prices, especially after the big rise in Rav 4 pricing.

I am still puzzled as to why Toyota Canada has such a price disparity with Toyota USA, even after factoring in exchange rates. Add to that the quirky option packages that Toyota Canada offers, where sometimes you are forced into a pricey option package just to get a common feature. Is Toyota purposely raising prices on their models in Canada? A lot of the competition's models are cheaper, and most of the competition doesn't have such quirky option packages.

The base 4 cyl Camry is now 1K more than a base 4 cyl Accord, yet V6 Camry is 1K less than V6 Accord. Coincidence?

http://honda.ca/HondaCA2006/BuildYou...dSedan&yr=2006

I think Toyota priced it like that on purpose perhaps.

With that higher base price for the 4 cyl, I HOPE that the base Camry in Canada manages to keep most of the standard features of the State-side Camry CE. It will be dissapointing if things like side airbags are optional.

EDIT: Compared with 06 model pricing in Canada, base price for the 4 cyl went up by $800, and base price for the V6 went up by almost $2000.

don't forget the base Accord has a manual transmission. Add $1,000 for auto. Also, with the 07 Camry LE, 8 airbags are standard as is Brake Assist and ABS w/EBD so you're getting all the safety features. Check out the thread I created with the Canadian 07 Camry features and specs.

Edit: here it is buried in page 4
http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t114158.html

There is a correction. It should read pass-through for the XLE V6. I don't think the seats fold because of the reclining feature.

KBB has invoice and MSRP on 2007 Camry

The title says it all. As of this morning (3 March) the Kelley Blue Book site has full detailing on MSRP and INVOICE pricing on the 2007 Camry.

They do NOT yet have any information on the HYBRID pricing however.

Enjoy,

George

Currently: 2004 Prius package 6; taking delivery NEXT week of a 2006 package 8
FIRST on the Sacramento Folsom Lake Toyota wait list for a loaded Camry
HYBRID.

You're right, looks like I jumped to conclusions. I totally forgot about your thread. Looks like the new Camry is still a better value than the Accord, and the Accord is due to be redesigned soon.

I take back what I said, Toyota Canada has done a good job with the pricing and packages for the new Camry. It's great that all the standard features are there on the base Camry, and the fact that SE and XLE get VSC standard is awesome! This new Camry will definitely sell well in Canada.

well, I don't know if I like that $2,000 price hike on the LE V6. I know, it's the same as the CE V6 of 99-01 (I think 97 and 98s were cheap) but the 02-06 LE V6s were really good value. A pity that Toyota thinks it's being too generous.

It still ends up being cheaper than an Accord V6, with more standard features. Although I see your point, I don't think it's that bad, compared to the Rav 4 price increase.

I'm hoping SE and XLE pricing doesn't go up too much.

Here's what you get for $800 price increase.

Side curtain airbags, side impact airbags, knee airbag
Increased crash protection (ultra high strength steel used for the 1st time= wait till you see the side impact rating)
16" wheels
gated shifter
Optitron gauges
Auxiliary input
MP3/ Auto sound levelizer
Larger interior (especially in rear seats)
Quieter ride/reduced noise levels.
Felt lined wheel wells (lexus technology)
slightly more efficient engine
Better fit and finish

Cheap at twice the price I think.

Pricing is officially up on Toyota.ca,

and there's a welcome surprise: SE V6 pricing is actually DOWN, by about $800 compared to the 2006 SE, which is great news. XLE V6 pricing has gone up by over $3000, but that's to be expected, since the 2007 XLE is a considerable step up over the 2006 XLE. I thought with all the underbody braces, and additional enhancements to the SE, the price would go up, but good for Toyota for keeping the value of it. It's definitely cheaper than a Nissan SE-R, and the SE V6 is only a bit more than a base Accord V6.

On Toyota.ca, the spec sheet shows that only the hybrid has knee airbags, and you can't even get the knee airbags on any of the other models . I knew it was too good to be true, and that Toyota Canada would not be as aggressive as Toyota USA in terms of standard features.

US pricing has been out for a while now, on Toyota's pressroom website. Toyota.com will be officially updated any day now.
