I wish they would bring something liekthat to the US. I like my SIenna and all but man is it boring looking. Even the new gen Siennas are boring. I know they are minivans and all but hey we like to have something stylish also.

I think it is hot. I love my Previa to death. Our Sienna is nice, but lacks the character that the Previa did. I think Toyota should bring it over so that they have a small minivan and a larger one. I know that some people buy the MPV because it is smaller.

they need to bring back a hiace/townace/previa/mid 80s style minivan for scion. Leave the sienna a toyota.

As the proud owner of an 84 LE (5MT) since new, I'd buy another forward-control van in a second!!!

The mid mounted thing was cool, but pretty unsafe. I doubt that we would see another one here in the US. Scion would never have a minivan. Scion is aimed at the younger buyer and they would never tainted their lineup with a minivan like Saturn did. That being said, I am 19 and would love to have a Previa vs my Camry anyday.

I have a 02 Sienna and it is small enough. I have sat in several of he MPV's and hey are jsut to small. You get a lot for the money sometimes but way to small for me. Might as well buy anew RAV4.

ehh.. that's the new Estima? It looks smaller than the old one... or is it because the old one just looked chunkier because of its design?

I wonder what Europe will get now the Previa will be discontinued here and get replaced by something built locally.

The Previa has always been quite a looker for a minivan.

Anyone know where I can get parts for this vehicle ?

I got the Estima 2002 model 2362cc engine 2AZ-FE

I am from Trinidad (West Indies) and I just traded a Honda Stream for this vehicle...
its now doing 35,000km... there seems to be oil leaking from the tappet pan cover gasket...

The new Estima (Previa) is way too expensive for N.A. Starting around $36,000 USD, it's far above the competition and the boring Sienna. The fact that it is a better-built, better-looking and MUCH longer-lasting vehicle is lost on people in this hemisphere.

As long as Americans view their automotive (and other) purchases as a bottom-dollar Wal-Mart excursion, we will be stuck with the inferior and - yes - boring lineup of cars as represented by almost all the manufacturers on this side of the pond(s).

Well, the Estima starts at $28k US. So it'll be similar as our Sienna. I do wish Toyota did sell the Estima here though. The dimensions are similar and have better packages and technology.

Toyota should really start selling of their cars in Japan to the US because they have better appealing designs, cars, and well, pretty much better in every way. Toyota should get rid of the Avalon here and replace it with their Crown if they are going to compete with Hyundai now. Hyundai is planning to send their flagship "Equus" to the US soon and from looking and reading about it, it's now spectacular luxury car that rivals that of BMW, M-Benz and Lexus.

Heck even the first generation Alphard(2002-2008) is a more advanced minivan than the Sienna which seems...old, I'm afraid. I do agree with sending some of Toyota Japan's lineup over. I'm not totally in favour of bringing the Crown over since it may make a mess of both the Lexus ES and GS, the Crown is a luxurious model and with its engine choices...makes the GS become a overpriced buy.

I'd prefer the Mark X especially since Toyota will introduce a 2nd version as a 2010 model making a great choice as a 2011, it doesn't directly compete with Lexus since its more sport oriented versus luxurious due to it taking over for both the popular mainstream Mark II and the fast sport oriented Chaser.

If Toyota does this I'll attempt to test drive and if it satisfies my strict criteria I'll truly convince my dad to get rid of his Avalon and return him to the goodness of RWD.

Shame to say, but Toyota would never bring those cars over here to North America, this would have been the case back in the 80s or 90s when their factories and dealership networks weren't fully established yet. Now that they have more factories operating here, I'm sure that we'll all see continued bland machine after bland machine roll endlessly off the North American production lines.

Economically speaking, it wouldn't make much financial sense to import overpriced JDM Toyotas to markets that would not really appreciate them to the fullest. Kinda sad, since ToyotaNation is full of members who are aching for some exciting Toyotas!

That's where I think you're slightly wrong. The Mark X won't do well only because, like you said, is sporty full-size sedan, where the Crown would make much more sense as a replacement for the Avalon because Toyota needs a flagship that's luxurious but also sporty looking. Look at the Genesis, it's outselling the Avalon already within a month. This is where the Crown comes in. It won't hurt the sales of Lexus ES and GS. Even though you said the Crown will hurt the sales of the GS, it's the same with the Camry and the ES. The Camry outsells the ES by four-folds but still sells enough for Lexus to keep. That and it's RWD which is a big plus.

This is why I think the Crown would be a great candidate because like the Avalon, it comes with four different variations, like the Crown Majesta, Crown Athlete, Crown Royal Saloon, and the Crown Hybrid which will make sense for Toyota to sell because it already offers a Hybrid model in the lineup.

Just my $0.02
