Only a 6.9% increase? That is soo low. Toyota should of improved with the Camry. Lexus sales are decreasing Toyota SUVs are down and even the Pruis is down. Toyota should update these vehicles with new features to make them more attractive.

I was a little surprised by the Toyota results too. The Camry and Corolla, Toyota's biggest sellers, seem to be stagnating. I'm sure the new Camry will help out once production ramps up, but as of right now, sales are actually less than 2005.

The only things really on fire are the IS300, Sienna, RX300/400h, and the Tacoma. The Scion xA looks like it's on fire until you realize it only increased sales by 500 for the month. Toyota isn't exempt from the high gas prices as sales of large SUV's appear to be stumbling like with GM and Ford.

Apparently, they are having supply problems. The drop in sales does not represent a drop in demand.http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercu...s/14253201.htm

It was Toyota's best month ever. Not too shabby.

Keep in mind he Camry Hybrid is only a month away. Many people who may be in the market for a Prius will wait to make there decision till the Camry shows up. Same reason the Camry numbers are down. Most people wanted to wait and see the 07 before they bought the remaining 06's.

I wonder why the Solara isn't getting updated with the Camry. It really needs an update and with the current style of the Camry should be better. Anybody know when the Avalon is getting refreshed?

The Avalon got this redesign for 2006. Dunno when the Solara will get it.

The Solara and the Camry although at least for the previous gens shared samed or modified platform, they are on different life cycles. So the last gen Camry was redesigned in 2002 then came the all new 2004 Toyota Solara-see! Anyway I heard that the Solara might be discontinued but that's probably just rumors, if it isn't and you follow the life cycle then supposedly a new Solara will come out as an 2009-for 06 the Solara got a minor refresh, mostly inside. As for the Avalon that was all new for 2005 model year so I'm guessing the "refresh" won't be 2008 model? That's about mid-life cycle refresh. Anyway that's just a basic run down, hope that helps!!

I just noticed the Lexus GS is not doing so well. It is doing a little better than the Acura RL. But is it on schedule for their goal of sales? I wonder why it is not selling so many, its a really nice car. I hope its only because people are waiting for the GS 350/460/450h. If those come out soon then sales should go up.
