wow a v10 in a van? whats the gas mileage on this thing? i read around and notice that kia's van are known for their low mileages even with their regular v6 but a v10 with 500 hp in a van? thats crazy, a v8 can do a better job

I hope the Sienna will get the 3.5 V6 soon. It would really make it attractive. The new 3.5 V6s are more fuel efficient and a lot more powerful.

That's a complete screwup on their part, they must have reprinted some other car's stats. Some performance car review not doubt mentions its 3.8-liter V6. Here's the correct information from within the text of the linked article:

"Like the styling, the Sedona's drive train looks pretty typical, a 3.8-liter V6. But this is a premium twin-cam, variable-valve timing engine. Similar to the one used in Hyundai's flagship Azera sedan, it yields 244 horsepower and class leading 253 pound-feet of torque. Mated to a smooth 5-speed automatic transaxle, the Sedona powers to 60 miles-per-hour in a fine 8.3 seconds, and through the quarter mile in 16.5 seconds at 85 miles-per-hour. There is even a manual shifter mode for those who fantasize about a minivan racing series."

Damn. Kia must've came up with some new aluminium and carbon fibre structure for their minivan to get that 4.4 second time.

Any notice that instead of the usual 3 year cycle before a midlife update then a full update after 5 years, Toyota's going with 2 and 2?

Sienna - 04/05 then updated for 06
Corolla - 03/04 then updated for 05. Ditto Matrix
Prius - 04/05 updated 06

Think they have to in order to stay competitive. New features will mean more sales.

I think the Sienna and Prius updates are related to the Odyssey and Civic Hybrid, and the Corolla update was extremely minor.

well midlife updates are usually minor. I mean the Prius only added a chrome grille, chrome background for the brake lights and the new "HYBRID" emblem as exterior changes.
