Since 1990, front-wheel drive Lexus ES "entry-level" luxury sedans have shared platforms and powertrains with Toyota Camry V6 models, and for 2007, Lexus has followed the same successful formula. The fifth-generation 2007 ES 350 is based on the just-redesigned 2007 Camry V6, and as in the past, the main differences between the ES and Camry are exterior styling, interior design, suspension tuning, noise reduction, additional comfort features and more safety features

It is. Note that the driver's seat variable cushion length differs from, say, BMW. In a BMW, a piece of cushion physically extends and there's a gap left behind. In the ES, there's this thing behind the leather that rotates and "extends" the seat... think lumbar support.

Yeah, I've seen those. You're right, and couldn't that gap be a driving hazard?

Well, if you're driving and slip into the gap, it could hamper your driving causing an accident.

I thought the 07 ES was based on the 90-94 LS body, not the camry
LOL, Never will a new vehicle return to a dead platform. Besides, the LS is a heavy, big, RWD platform. Its based on a widened, lengthened Toyota Cressida. Even the styling is very similar to the Cressida. The ES is a Camry. Its always been a Camry, and it will always be a Camry.

I thought the 2007 MY ES350 will be the last Lexus sedan based on a Toyota Platform. The Next Generation ES will be on its own platform.
