Maybe less vehicles sold = less problems

Its problems per 100 vehicles. And Buick and Mercury have always scored well in JDP. Thoguh I would wager a guess that the Camry was right after these three on the list, and the Accord soon after.

Is it a coincidence that none of the cars at the top of the list have been redesigned since the 90s?

But still it doesnt look good for Toyota. Is the reputation thing myth or fact.

The reason that the Buick and Mercury score well is because you have an older average buyer....and they are less likely to complain. Not to say the aren't reliable...it's just the reporting has no control for age or mileage etc... Also the sample size is very small......

A smaller sample size would actually work against them, but thats besides the point.

There's no concrete evidence that older buyers report less problems. At least, I haven't seen any studies saying that. With that logic, would you say that Lexuses have more problems than are being reported, since they also have a relatively high average buyer age?

what?

How does the camry not getting on the list not bode well for toyota.

Did you read the rest of the list?

The corolla, echo,rav4,tundra,tacoma, and a whole slew of lexus vehicles where either 1,2 or 3rd.

Yes I read it. did you?

It doesnt "bode" well for Toyota because the camry is perceived as the heart of Toyota. Also, It is the perception that the camry and Toyota in general is the icon of legendary dependability and that the American Counterparts have piss poor dependability.
That is the perception and here is a 3 year study on dependability
where Toyota comes in 5th behind mercury, pontiac and cadilac (American).

Also according to the study, the camry isnt even in the top three most dependable vehicles in its class of about 11 cars.

Thats how it doesnt bode well for Toyota.

Note: I love Toyota I love the camry. I think the test is biased because of various factors but majortom1986 whom I have quoted asked how does this test make toyota look less than steller.
