USA TRD Special Edition Toyota NEXTEL Series Camry

I would like to know if Toyota plans to satisfy NASCAR fans and released a street legal 2006/2007 TRD Special Edition Toyota NEXTEL Series Camry?

There have been previously released Toyota Special or Limited Edition Models in their past. Like the current Darrell Waltrip Special Edition Truck. But, since there are no current Toyota sports cars, many people are beginning to wonder if Toyota has got out of the sports car market.

I have been a Toyota car owner now for 16 years. I would like to make my next purchase a "new" Toyota Sports Car, but there are no current models with the removal of the Celica, MR2, Supra and no current Limited Edition TRD Camry. I've been in the market now for a new Toyota Sports Car for the last 2 years, but I've also been looking into possibly purchasing a Chevy Monte Carlo SS, modeled after their Nextel Series car or a Dodge Charger R/T, modeled after their Nextel Series car.

I consider both of these cars, true sports cars and I was hoping that Toyota would consider producing a small number of Limited Edition Nextel Series Camry's for general public purchase.

Any response I would greatly appreciate. Any information on a possible release of a 2006/2007 TRD Special Edition Camry I would greatly appreciate and thank you for your time.

Uhh, the Monte Carlo and Charger R/T are "true sports cars"? True sports cars are Corvettes, Porsches, etc. You listed a large FWD near-lux coupe and a family sedan on steroids.

But anyway, back to your point, Chevy has made a lot of money on their Intimidator Earnhardt packages for the Monte, so I don't see why Toyota wouldn't at least try a NASCAR-inspired body/graphics package for the Camry. Who knows....

Id love to see Toyota come out with a TRD Camry with a V8 and rear drive. That would be cool. I highly doubt it is gonna happen though.

Like the current Darrell Waltrip Special Edition Truck...
We can't even GIVE those away!!

$3000 Rebate on ANY D-Cab Tundra...
$1000 Toyota/Lex/Scion Owner Loyalty Rebate (99.999% of this board)
EXTRA $1000 off Darrell Waltrip Edition

That's $5000 off the truck Before even talking to us about the price!

Joel Musicman, you guys are having the same issue we're having with the Daryl Waltrip Tundra, eh? We've had ours on the lot since the end of May and it still only has 30 miles on it, and those miles were put on back and forth from an off site sale.

I'll dealer trade it to you for an 07 Camry!

Grant

USA M62 supercharger

"The M62 supercharger snuggles up to the Toyota 1.8 liter engine like it was designed-in from the start. So, too, does the intercooler and associated plumbing, which fits snugly beneath the standard rear clamshell".

I'm wondering why Toyota can't redesign a car like the 1994 AWD Turbo Celica and drop the 240R engine in it??? I'm sure it would sell. It would probably sell as good as the Evo or Subaru STI. Probably better if it was 3,000 dollars cheaper than those vehicles.

Why does Toyota have no more imagination? Toyota needs to start thinking about making a sports car for 2007. I love Toyota, but I'm Pis*ed off they don't have any more sports cars!!!!

Stop being MAD at us JAPAN for droping the bomb on you!!! We are your friends! Treat us like one and start making Sports Cars! Thank you!

I'd like to see a rear wheel drive version of the 2007 Camry. Nascar or not. But don't put it out till mid-year next year or there might be a murder at my house when I trade in my present 2007 Camry.

Be patient man, a Toyota sports car is coming within the next 2 years. If not, then make a thread about this again

That's funny... we even ripped the decals off the trucks...

And they're still here!

Hey Streaker... I'll buy yours for $14000!

there's at least 2 sports cars coming from Toyota soon, I just pray they come out with something small, RWD and affordable. From what I've read, the only concrete plans for sports cars are the new Supra (or replacement) and the Lexus LF-A

USA Supra and LF-A? Ya nuts?

I've read, the only concrete plans for sports cars are the new Supra (or replacement) and the Lexus LF-A.

Dude you've been reading comic books if you think you're going to be able to afford a LF-A which is going to sell for 150,000 or more.

The Supra is a Pipe Dream. Toyota even said they don't plan to produce the Supra ever again. There are no plans for any new sports cars from Toyota in the near future, besides that new Scion Shoe Box Car that is ugly as hell. Scions are very cheaply made.

There is no Celica, no MR2 and no Supra in the plans by Toyota. I've given up! I've written e-mail letters to Toyota's R&D Department, to their CEO of American Sales and the CEO of Toyota Japan. The only reply I got was from Toyota's R&D Department on future Sports Cars and they said they were looking into a possible Hybrid Sports car in 2009. That's it. Toyota is done making sports cars. You can go home and cry now. I hope those working in the R&D Department at Toyota eat some bad King Fish and die.

F'em all.

I didn't say anything about being able to afford it. I know how much it will cost. I said I wish they would come up with a cheap RWD sports car.

as for toyota being done with sports cars, you are very wrong. infidel.

Of course that's what they'll tell you - a whole lot of nothing that isn't obvious anyways. Every vehicle will be hybrid since this is Toyota's well advertised plan. But why didn't they come right out and tell you their sportscar plan? Becuase it is Corporate policy to keep these under wraps. Everyone at Toyota - particularly those working with vehicle planning and product launches - signs a non-disclosure agreement. Because no company wants their competitors to get a leg up on them.

So to say that Toyota isn't working on anything is just to blindly follow the party line akin to Castro.

Might as well not lose any sleep conjecturing about this matter. Worry about the what's in the water in VA.
