Nice features, but those rear side airbags.......that concerns me, is there a way to turn them off if there is a kid in the backseat of what....or do side airbags not effect kids like the front airbags do.

I am not sure about this, but i think there are sensors under the seat that detect if someone is sitting on the seat. These are basically weight sensors. If there is a kid then the air bags don't come out with full force. Or something to that effect.
BTW, i didn't get this info from toyota, i figured if my Odysee has it, then probably so does the Lexus.

Side airbags won't hurt you unless your kid has their head resting against the window.

You and me both. Now to just offer some true manual transmissions with some of these cars and revise suspension tuning and they'll prob. lure the 3 series crowd

I think an F1 derived, Magneti Marelli SMG would be more likely than a true manual. It seems manuals are dead for mass produced cars. They just don't sell like they used to, and it sucks because I hate automatics with a passion.
