Just helped my dad apply. He's been out of work for the past couple months since his previous company laid him off... they were a supplier of seat foam, headliners, etc for Honda in Allison, Ontario, and in the past, Ford in Oakville.

I read an article I think it was either the globe or the star where even the higher ups were stressed or tired although proud of their work. IIRC the article said because TMMC builds Lexus that they also were trained to build like their counterparts in Japan. That said TMMC probably is a very good place for the workaholic. I haven't heard any of this sort of stuff from the domestic plants here nor the Honda plant at Alliston, although in the case of the domestic plants with plant closures I'd be surprised to hear this sort of thing from them.
The phrase about the workaholic sums up TMMC.....I work here cuz i wanna work...most people that end up here come here to loly gag and thats why work places go down hill.

And by workaholic I know cuz i do a min of 10Hr days and weekend support not to metion shift work that sometimes I come at 5pm and leave at 4am or 6am to 6pm.....I have to admit that this is somewhere that you come to work I love my job it affords my qulality of life and I have to thank TMMC/Toyota for that!

There is alot of people that love there jobs here and like any job there is managment issues but there is always a group of take everything for granted people that ruin a company image and tarnish the rest of the workforce....

Just my Two pennies!

Did I mention I love my job!

Sounds great that you like the company and the type of work you do. Not a great deal of people have both of those qualities.
