Brush up that resume and get ready for a long, gruelling process. Toyota is about to start hiring.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada will start advertising tomorrow to hire the first of 2,000 workers for its newest assembly plant in Woodstock, which begins production in 2008, said Adriaan Korstanje, assistant general manager external affairs for Toyota in Cambridge.
Trust me when I tell you this, you don't want to work at TMMC.You wouldn't believe the really sick way management treats it's employee's. Money isn't everything, get a career doing something you like. It's not worth it.

First of all that may have been my first post under this name, but I've been here many times under another name so I'm hardly a troll. As for explaining what I said in my post I was just trying to save you the pain. Tmmc has very strong rules about showing the outside world what it's like . But if you want to spend a few years building a car every 54 seconds untill you're a cripple, then go right ahead buddy. Just don't expect to have life outside of work.
Don't get me wrong,Toyota still makes the best cars and trucks in the world. And I'm very greatfull for my job, most days it's all right, but it' just really hard to see some young 18 year old come into the plant and see him or her hurt because of the pace.

As if it's any different from assembling vehicles for other manufacturers? I'm not doubting you or anything, but to be honest the "cruelness" of these types of jobs isn't any surprise to me. In fact, most "assembly line" works are like that anyway. Working for Toyota doesn't mean it ain't gonna be hard work, and if anyone thinks otherwise then that person should definitely get his/her brain checked.
Earning money and having a life outside of work will always be a compromise. It's all about how the individual finds balance, am I correct? If someone is fed up with the job, he/she can simply quit and walk away, even when you need that money to eat and stay alive. There's no such thing as "easy money" in the real world, unless your lastname is "Hilton" and first name is "Paris"
If you really worked at TMMC, you'd know differently. Perhaps you mistook your employer with the one down the road in Woodstock? You know...the one that used to push out Sidekicks?
I had a friend visit the TMMC plant in Cambridge. He liked the way Toyota does build its cars and he has owns domestics. However he couldn't help but notice that the workers didn't seem entirely happy. Perhaps he went on a day where most of the workers were tired although I do hear about these once in a while.
I read an article I think it was either the globe or the star where even the higher ups were stressed or tired although proud of their work. IIRC the article said because TMMC builds Lexus that they also were trained to build like their counterparts in Japan. That said TMMC probably is a very good place for the workaholic. I haven't heard any of this sort of stuff from the domestic plants here nor the Honda plant at Alliston, although in the case of the domestic plants with plant closures I'd be surprised to hear this sort of thing from them.

Yeah, you did a shitty job building my Matrix back in March...
