Manual Transmission options on toyota.com

Ok. This is freaking me out.
Why are the manual transmission options gone from "Build your toyota" pages for the Corolla LE? Camry manual is completely missing....
Is that a message for us for the future?

http://www.toyota.com/byt/pub/showModels.do

I know the specification do mention it but for building the toyota there is no such option.

PS... I saw the 07 Honda CR-V on the road today. Not bad. Like the RAV4, no more manual transmission in that either... What a waste...

Who sang that song?, "Something wrong with the world today... I don't know what it is....." Early 90s?

The availablility on "Build Your Toyota" is based on what cars are in the area around you based on your ZIP code. Look at the specs on the main page to see what has a manual option. I guess they'd be hard to get your hands on though, geographically speaking.

I had called the dealer about this and they were willing to order a manual transmission for me. Not that I am buying or anything. Same zip code.... Strange. I don't know what they base their "build ur car" page on.

Unfortunately the majority of the new cars purchased today are equipped with automatics... I hate to see the lack of choice

As was said, build your own lists vehicles that are available in your area. Ive noticed that the options change over the course of a year.
I too think it would be a sad day when Toyota no longer offers a manual tranny option, but nowdays most people dont want a manual tranny. Sad to say, but a lot of people nowdays are too lazy to learn how to drive stick. They would rathar just put it in "drive" and step on the gas. Its sad because a 4-cylinder engine with a manual tranny is a gutless combination and when fuel economy is a priority, you cant beat a manual tranny.

Maybe it's just me, but i have always been able to get the manul option on the toyota page. I just went to the main site and then to the build your toyota page. After entering my zipcode, here is what i got.

Right on step 1 i see it there. Le: 5 speed manual.
