The new 2007 Tundra D-Cab will be unveiled at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI in January. The D-Cab is the largest cab configuration that will be offered in the new Tundra. The B-Cab or Base Cab was recently introduced, and the C-Cab or "Double Cab" as Toyota is calling it, was introduced at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show.
The D-Cab name is not officially out. It is expected to have a similar cab size as the Dodge 2500/3500 Mega Cab. The D-cab configuration is probably going to come out a bit later than the B and C cab Tundras, as the unveiling date is rather last-minute considering the Tundra is due at dealers in February.

but looks funny with the small bed, hope the tundra isnt like that
The bed on the "Mega Crew" (as toyota Canada calls it) will only be 5.5 feet. So it is going to have the short box look.
I was at a development meeting for the new truck configurations and mentioned that a 5.5 box will probably make the truck un-useable for for 5th wheel pulling. The Mega Crew is designed for a much smaller segment of the market. The double cab have the main build out. The Mega Crew will see much less production.

That makes sense. The Double cab will probably be plenty big enough. The dodge megacab has been out for what, a year now? I hadn't seen a single one until a couple weeks ago, and have still only seen one. Probably not a big market for them? I've spend a lot of time riding around in a '04 dodge crewcab, the crewcab seemed to have plenty of backseat space to me, the "megacab" seems kinda pointless?
From what I've SEEN (I have no sales #'s to back this up) I think that the majority of GM trucks sold are EX. cab (they did have the largest ex. cab of any truck, don't know if that's still true) and you get the full 6.5 foot bed. Ford is kind of a toss up, I see a lot of both ext and crews. When it comes to Toyota and Dodge I almost never see extended cab trucks, mostly crew cab trucks, especially with the 05-06 Tundras. I like both configurations, but I have no real need for a crew cab, but I do like the space of an ext. cab and the full "short" bed lengths. Toyota will do just fine with only a "Crew" cab and no ext. cab (if that is indeed true.) I just don't see a market for the D-cab. Like I posted above, I've only seen ONE dodge megacab, the crew cabs are pleny big enough
all the regular cabs are the same. what im talking about is the crewmax and the mega. they are the same thing- except the crewmax might be bigger according to c&d. the mega cab does not come with a full 6.5 foot bed. seeing that, i am assuming that the same will be true with the crewmax. im saying that those wont sell. ive never seen a mega cab in real life, and you cant do much w/ anything less than a 6 foot bed.
the tundra will not have an ext.cab which is found in the chevys/fords. theyre double cab is said to be about the same size as the crew cab in the ford's/chevys. i believe this is a mistake. the extended cab model to me seems to be the best selling version of the domestic pickups. and i was asking if there are any plans for toyota to release something that matches the cab setup.
looking at the trucks, it seems to me that toyota went after dodge's more than anyone else with the way the tundra can be configured than anyone else.
