Looks nice. I wonder what the mpg is on the new models. Also I think its wacky that Toyota wouldn't at least offer a 5-speed auto as the FIT has that and 4-speeds are going the way of the Dodo (except for the domestics) especially with paddle shift...I hope Toyota isn't going GM on us! Otherwise very nice models, can't wait to see them in person and sit in them.

Actually, the domestics are phasing out their 4 speeds as we speak.
I guess all I can really say is, these do uphold the quirkiness of the old models.

Only thing stopping me from buying an xb was solved
The only thing that stopped me from buying an xb was its horsepower. Now that the car has 158hp and has more hp then my 2004 corrolla i might think about buying one.
Any specs on the american corolla yet so I can compare them?
I like the XB, but I like the current one, and the Element also so I might be a little weird. The boost in the HP will be nice. A friend as an 05 XB, and it's not terrible with the 5 speed, but the extra power will be nice.
Can't wait to find out how much the price will be affected, and what the FE will be with the boost in power.
Borderline horrible. I liked the Xa, but the xD is just hiedous. Why can't they just bring the Auris stateside?
Auris is a nice car but that's bigger than the xA/xD as far as class and tarket market. The xD is based off the current gen Yaris hatch, modified of course. I heard the next Matrix will look similar or be based off the Auris.

I just got the new Consumer reports and the specs say optional 4-speeds for the Saturn Aura, Pontiac G6, Chrysler Sebring, and they expect to be competitive in this market?? Okay they offer a 5 or 6 speed but at this point in time most cars in the the mid-sized class will have at least 5 or 6 speed automactic. Disapointing that the domestics still offer it on a NEW car! Shame!
I'm NOT trying to get in a pissing contest and yes the Domestics are slowly but surely learning to include more competative options such as transmissions. Time will tell!
Sorry to get off topic.
