Toyota workers fired for leaked memo...just happen to be UAW supporters

Two ex-Toyota workers claim they have been unfairly blamed for leaking an embarrassing memo to the media that lays out the automaker's desire to reduce U.S. wages.

The confidential memo is now being quoted by UAW organizers hoping to pick up union support at Toyota's nonunion North American factories.

and the extra baggage of being #1 begins to take off...

Well, they work in an "at will" state, so Toyota does not need to give a reason for firing them. . .

That being said, this is the most troubling part of it all:

"They claim that they were offered the chance to resign from Toyota, but both refused. They instead opted for a "peer review," a Toyota process that allows employees to plead their case to a five-person jury of fellow workers and company management.

In both cases, the peer reviews agreed with Riddell and Eades' plea of innocence. But Toyota management overturned the reviews and terminated the two anyway, the ex-employees claim."

So much for justice. Your found innocent by a jury of your peers, but the "judge" throws the book at you anyways. . . . If true, shame on Toyota management. . . .
