^^^^I really hope that's not it. Its interesting reading the link you gave. All those people who "NEED" a SUV or bus I should say to carry 2 or 3 kids? Are you kidding me? I know there are legit times to carry people in a bigger vehical or tow a boat or whatever but majority of SUVs on the road it seems to be one person per SUV. Obviously you're not going to carry people or boats all the time but its just getting riddiculous. Sorry I'll get off my soap box

looks like bits of the concept car made it to the Sequoia. The name escapes me at the moment but it's the white concept that looks like a big big xB and has huge curves for feners.

What about people who live in the northern states and need a 4x4 for driving in snow? Even with an AWD car you are pretty much screwed if the snow is deeper than 6" (the front bumper pushes the snow like a snowplow and you go nowhere).
You could say the same about people who buy sportscars. What good is a car that will do 140 mph when the speed limit is 65?
I personally think that pic of the Sequoia is kinda ugly, but I thought the new Tundra was ugly untill I saw it in person. Now that Ive seen a few in person I think they look awsome.

I agree with you but I was talking about the fact the majority of SUVs won't see any off roading. Sure its legit to have a car that can take deep snow or that you need for adverse weather but generally speaking you see them with one person going to the mall. And now that crossovers are becoming more popular I highly doubt most of them are built for off road (there could be some exceptions) but most are for bad weather on the road which isn't a bad thing. Sports cars are nich' market so that doesn't cout Anyway I don't want to get into a pissing contest, we'll just leave it at that.

Im not looking to get into a pissing match either, Im just saying that different people have different tastes in vehicles.
To say that no one has a need for a fullsize SUV is an ignorant statement, IMO...

I wonder how the Europeans and Asians get away with it then....

Can't wait to see the real Sequoia.
I am sure, based on the impressive Tundra engineering, the new Sequioa will not let us feel the Land Cruiser absence..
PS... why this topic in the General Discussion area...??? See above for the kind of people/responses you will get here now.

Well, if gas was $6-$8 dollars gallon here in the states like it is in much of the rest of the world, Im sure more Americans would be willing to drive minibuses.
When gas is fairly cheap, why not go for a bigger, roomier vehicles even if it gets poor fuel economy?
Look, Im not advocating huge SUVs that get 10 mpg, Im just saying, "different strokes for different folks".
