TOKYO (AP) -- Toyota recalled 470,000 vehicles in Japan Wednesday for engine, steering and motor problems in the latest sign of growing quality problems as the automaker embarks on ambitious global growth.
None of the recalled models were exported, Toyota Motor Corp. said. There were no reports of accidents related to the defects, but more than 300 problems were reported, it said.

Oops! Toyota might as well quit and give up. Just die and let the domestics take over. I know I plan to burn my Toyota at the stake, anyone with me?
Like what we say for every car make or most of us, its good that they are recalling the cars and looking into it. Sure it sucks that its this big but hey better than hidding it under the rug.

The sky is falling! The sky is FALLING!! The sky IS FALLING!!!
Sounds like it must be time for Mr. Toyoda to take a bow, apologize to all past and current Toyota owners worldwide for all the lies that he and his ancestors have told since the original Toyoda vehicles in the 1930s, and announce to GM and Ford, and the rest of the world, that he is closing the Toyota Motor Corporation, effective immediately. The reason for this drastic move, he will say, is because the quality of Toyota vehicles is now so, so, so low that nothing they do can bring its quality up a level that could even match that of the Yugo. "They start falling apart as soon as they roll off the line!"
To save face, he will announce that there will be an immediate recall of ALL Toyota vehicles currently on the roads, worldwide. All current registered Toyota owners will be offered the chance to swap their Toyota for a Ford.
But your pro-Toyota antics aren't tolerated on this board

Intersting news if you live in Japan but someone looking for a car in North America could care less about recalls in a market half way around the world.

YEAh, seems youre kinda right, because it doesnt affect u directly, but in the end its interesting the huge number of vehicles, and the important parts of the vehicle that have problems, but then again, this and the recent news of toyota slipping in quality in consumer reports maybe together can break little by little toyotas reputation . Heck! at least anti toyotas will have more and more bricks to throw at toyotas roof, even thou they may have a glass roof of their own.

So, I should join the ECHO twins and ban myself for 5 minutes also? I will, after this.
I believe that I may have spoken too soon when I suggested that Mr. Toyoda shut down the company immediately. According to Brendan Moore writing for Autosavant, Toyota has already committed suicide:
"Since you read this blog, you probably already know that Toyota took a shot to the temple yesterday when Consumer Reports stated that the Camry V6 and the Toyota Tundra are now rated below average in reliability, and further, the Lexus GS, an upscale clone of the Camry, was also rated below average. Additionally, this caused Consumer Reports to withdraw their long-standing “recommend” buy rating on all Toyota cars and trucks."

R.I.P. Toyota!
I now ban myself for 5 minutes for my pro-Toyota antics!
Fuck it...I think we should just bann this whole site. I mean Toyota is pretty much doomed so why would we have a site dedicated to it? Doesn't make sense to me, after all we all are blind little Toyota loyalists who are like sheep going off to get slautered.
