By your logic why make any cars that go above 75mph. Its a moot point. Its not whether or not you can go that speed legally its the fact that you can. Its all about bragging rights. Also you have to remember CEO's or just really rich people are buying these. Typically your middle aged male and I'm sure some females. They aren't going to drag race like a sixteen year old, (exception of some I'm sure). Insurance? If they can afford the car I'm sure they can afford the insurance.

Its called bragging rights. Logically yes, your thinking makes sense, however the human mind works a little differently. You can also say there is no point to a Veyron, but there is one.

It would be a halo car for the company that makes it, it will attract the consumers to the their dealership and end up rolling out in a lesser car. Its also a bragging right and showoff item for the person that DOES buy it. "My car goes 220, your's doesn't!"

^^^To add to that...this segment like the luxury segment is about excess. Its not about being efficient (although that could change) and being reasonible. The reason these cars are "super" is because they are out of the ordinary. its just a whole different catagory.

Toyota already said they weren't going to bring back the supra... i wish these threads would die...

Plus... would you really want them to bring back the Supra? I mean its just gonna be some super heavy wanna-be super car built to compete against porsche and ferrari and the GTR and will be so far out of anyones price range it wont be worth it... overall it'd be a bastardized shitty rendition however it might lower the price of the MKIV so then i could afford it.. haha
