There will be a lot of speculation about both models of these cars before they finally get announced in near-final spec. I don't really believe much of anything that I read about them now. It's pretty hilarious what people will say about cars before they come out.
If you get the chance, read some car magazines that are 5-10 years old, and read information about "future cars" in them. It's comical how wrong they always are.

(Hoping there is a Toyota-badged version of the car in Canada)
Not suprise Toyota and Subaru make cars together. If memory serves me right, Toyota bought 35% of Fuji Hevy Industry, the mother company of Subaru couple years ago. I am not suprise if Ford wants to sell Mazda in near future, Toyota will chip in.
At a news conference here today, CEO Katsuaki Watanabe also said that Toyota Motor Corp. would boost its stake in Fuji Heavy to 16.5 percent, from its current 8.7 percent.
Toyota will pay 31.1 billion yen ($311 million) for the increased holding, effectively snapping up the last of the shares sold back to Fuji Heavy by General Motors in 2005.
Not quite as high as you imagined. But I'm sure it will get there if Toyota wishes to do so.
^ Toyota knows they need to bring back a sports car for people of our age, but Project Genesis failed the Celica so they are taking their sweet time this time around ...
For the last few years, Toyota has been trying to draw their younger crowd to the Scions while maintaining their current line-up in order to further magnify their presence in the automotive industry ... and its working ... they are growing quite well. But soon, im sure Toyota will either bring a new "Celica" or something to fill its shoes in the department of sports cars.
Right now, Lexus is getting all the fun stuff - so it will be Toyota's turn soon enough
QUestion.... whats all the fun and hype of driving a scion??

I agree, Scion obviously needs to step their game up cause of the nature of their niche' brand. But Scion is about customizing and that includes engine mods. But also you get mono-spec cars and all you do is customize so that's fun right??
Also its perception and that it doesn't have a Toyota badge on it even if it is.

I dunno, I kinda like driving my wifes xb, its fun, even though no one seems to like the electric power steering. Although I think when this particular car comes out, it will be a good one.
