Well regardless if you think its ugly or not it will sell, not to say Toyota should make it purposely ugly. The Prius was never meant to look like a conventional car. Its their all hybrid car meaning its not based off an existing car i.e. Camry, Highlander. That's what those cars are for. But the Prius is the halo hybrid car with a sub-brand to follow. I think Toyota is purposely keep it futuristic and stuff like that. If they didn't people would bitch and moan that it looks like its other cars and call it boring. Or say there's nothing to distinct this halo hybrid car. To some that's good, to others they want to stand out. But that's why Toyota did that to the Camry and others. If you don't like the Prius but want the hybrid get those cars.

Anyone remember Toyota saying they will develop a hybrid only "Prius" brand of vehicles with entries for most segments? Is it just me, or do I not see it happening anymore.

Toyota likes to play its card close to the chest... Venza aside lol.

Well ya, of course it will sell, they can't even make those things fast enough to keep up with demand. But if I were buying a 50+ mpg car I would wish I could go really green without looking so "green".

But that's my point. The Prius is Toyota's halo hybrid so it comes with the territory. It's the "hey look at me I'm futuristic hybrid that saves the earth" or how ever you want to look at it. If you want to be green without looking so green get a Camry hybrid or Highlander. I know they don't net the same as the Prius although I heard the Camry gets close. Toyota will develop a hybrid system for most of their cars. So if you don't want that image then probably get those cars. Or you can get another car from another maker that gets 50 plus. Maybe a VW TDI car.
Not trying to be an ass just pointing that out.

^Ya, totally agree with you. I just think "car guys" like me would respect the Prius more if it looked a little more BA. But of course those who are actually going to buy a Prius want to stand out and look like they are wonderful for helping the earth. Just look at at all the celebrities buying Priuses.
I think the Corolla's the small car to go with, just cuz it's way cheaper than a Prius and still gets pretty dang impressive milage.

not to mention that the new 10 gen corollas look daam dead sexxy kinda like lexus

I remember awhile back Toyota specifically said the Prius won't be conventional looking. They're trying to distinct it from the rest of the line up which makes sense as its their glory hybrid. If you want normal get another hybrid.
