Bristol the only thing between Benson and NCTS record

Johnny Benson shares the Craftsman Truck Series record for consecutive victories at three with four drivers: Mike Skinner, Ron Hornaday, Greg Biffle and Todd Bodine. He can break out of that select group and become the first driver to win four in a row Wednesday in the O'Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
"That would be great if we could make it happen," Benson said. "I'm looking forward to the challenge."
Benson's Bill Davis Racing Toyota has won four of the past five races. He has 13 victories, including last season at Bristol, in the past 56 races, dating back to his first in the series in the 10th race of 2006. After Benson joined Davis at midseason in 2004, he went winless in his initial 47 starts.
"We're having a good year," Benson said. "The last couple of years have been real good. I've been proud of what the team has been able to do the last couple years. This year, it seems like we're on a roll."
Benson leads the championship standings by 45 points over Hornaday and 91 over Matt Crafton with 10 of 25 races remaining. Hornaday and Crafton drive Chevrolets.
"We'll go work on those Chevrolets," Hornaday said after finishing fifth in the previous race at Nashville. "We've got to do some more. That's three in a row for Johnny now, and we're going to have to go beat [him]."
Hornaday, with three, and Kyle Busch, with two, are the other multiple race winners this season. Busch returns to the series for his 11th race of the season in the No. 51 Billy Ballew Motorsports Toyota.
Busch leads the Sprint Cup Series with eight wins and has six more in the Nationwide Series this season. He has gone seven consecutive Truck races without winning, an indication of how competitive and difficult it is for non-regulars even of his ability to win.
Two-time Cup champion Jimmie Johnson will make his debut in the series at Bristol in the No. 81 Randy Moss Motorsports Chevrolet.
"I have never won a Truck race, so it should be fun," Johnson said. "I'm excited to run Randy's truck. Hopefully, we can get them a good finish."
Notes: Cup regular Patrick Carpentier and recent former Cup regulars David Stremme, Ken Schrader and Jeff Green also are entered at Bristol. ... Former Formula One driver Scott Speed returns in a Bill Davis Racing Toyota for his ninth start this season. He won at Dover, was 26th at Texas, and was third at Michigan in his last three races.
