CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Joey Logano will drive the No. 96 Toyota Camry in five Sprint Cup Series races for Hall of Fame Racing, team officials announced Wednesday.
Logano, who is under contract with Joe Gibbs Racing and will drive the No. 20 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing in Sprint Cup starting in 2009, will pilot the No. 96 Toyota in five Sprint Cup races in 2008, beginning with the Sept. 14 Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon. Logano will also drive the No. 96 machine at Kansas Speedway Sept. 28, Lowe's Motor Speedway Oct. 11, Martinsville Speedway Oct. 18 and Texas Motor Speedway Nov. 2.
"We look forward to working with Joey during the five races he will drive the No. 96 DLP HDTV Toyota," said Tom Garfinkel, co-owner of Hall of Fame Racing. "We're happy to work with Joe Gibbs Racing to assist in Joey's development as he prepares for a full season in Sprint Cup next year."
"We appreciate Hall of Fame Racing helping us get Joey ready for 2009," said J.D. Gibbs, president of Joe Gibbs Racing. "They came to us with the idea before the August Michigan race and we think it's a great win/win for all of us."
Logano, 18, will make his Sprint Cup debut next weekend at Richmond International Raceway driving the No. 02 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. In 10 Nationwide Series starts for Joe Gibbs Racing, Logano has one win (Kentucky Speedway), seven top-10 finishes and two poles. Hall of Fame Racing receives chassis, engines and manufacturing support from Joe Gibbs Racing.
Veteran Ken Schrader, who started seventh and finished 21st in the No. 96 Toyota last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, will drive the No. 96 Toyota in this weekend's Pepsi 500 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif.
Schrader will also pilot the car at Richmond International Raceway Sept. 6, Dover International Speedway Sept. 21 and Talladega Superspeedway Oct. 5.
Brad Coleman, who has been under contract as a test driver for Hall of Fame Racing since November 2007, will continue to test for the team in the coming weeks.
"Ken Schrader brings practical experience and stability to our race team that will help in a lot of ways," Garfinkel said. "Brad did a great job testing for us at Kansas this week, and Ken will be an asset to Brad as we continue to get him more laps in a Sprint Cup car."

Well, he has done well in every other series in NASCAR he has competed in (even when people said he was too young, too inexperienced and not ready), so Id expect nothing less in Cup.
No doubt it will take him a bit to get used to both the differences from the Nationwide car to the Cup car and to get used to the level of competition and the added distance of the Cup races, but this kid definetly has the talent to go as far as he wants in NASCAR.
Im just glad that he's going to be behind the wheel of a Toyota, because everyone think this kid is going to be the next big star in NASCAR.

I dont know about that. Logano has a lot of learning to do. If Logano can manage to run in the top 20 all next year, get some top 10 finishes, lead some laps and contend for a win or 2, I would call that a pretty successful rookie season.
