I know that the video has been posted already, but found the specs and photos of the LF-A. Very impressive. I can't wait for the los angeles auto show. I'am not too happy about the way the front end came out though. Maybe it will look better in person and in a different color. http://lexusenthusiast.com/
Wow! I am so excited for Lexus. Seeing the glorious 9000 rpm redline gave me goosebumps! on this Yamaha built masterpiece engine. It is right up there with the Ferrari 458 that will sport exactly the same redline. Considering a 4.8 Liter displacement, I was expecting a 420 - 430 ft-lbs of torque figure since the Ferrari 458 will be pushing 400 ft-lbs@6000 rpm from only 4.5 liter displacement so I am hoping they are incorrect. Anyway it is a very high-revving car so peak torque figures are almost insignificant compared to the entire torque curve across the enormous rev range.
Hopefully, this is a new beginning for Lexus as an exciting and adrenaline rush filled products to come.
Looks they got everything right with this product and it will be ready to go head to head with the Ferrari 458.
A big thumbs up for Lexus!!

Sweeet. Finally a Toyota I actually want sooo badly. Question. Anyone see the Murciélago resemblance in the front? Also, I'm a little disappointed they didn't carry over the little "fang" in the headlight design from the concept car. I thought it was a distinctive and added a bit of originality to the concept. Lastly, why is it using a regular key? It has a backup camera but no SKS?

Well the 458 utilizes direct injection and a flat plane crank. Toyota hasn't said if the LFA's motor uses direct injection. I'm sure it does as well. And a 4.5L V8, assuming all things equal, would mean a 5.625L V10.
But consider, the 5.7L Carrera GT V10 produces only 435lb-ft and is nearly a liter larger. I think its output is quite impressive. Liter per liter, the LFA produces 73.75 lb-ft, while the Carrera GT does 76.31 lb-ft. Overall, not bad.
Good info. Thanks. Yes, the LF-A engine has direct injection, as per the Chief Engineer.
What are the racing statistics so far for the LF-A?? Did it run the fastest single lap in the Nurburgring 23 hour endurance race??
I was amazed when the Chief Engineer said that the car reaches from 1000 to 9000 rpm so fast that the no analog tachometer can keep up so they decided build a completely digital gauge cluster. That is so cool.
Ferrari engines typically do not sound nearly the best in exotics. The Ferrari F430 does not sound nearly as good as the Porsche Carrera GT. Maybe because it is a V8 vs V10. The LF-A sounds even better than the Porsche Carrera GT. Even at 9000 rpm, it will not sound nearly as good.
Pretty much, LF-A is the best sounding car I have ever heard.

Goddamn 400k? The performance figures better be better than this. 0-60 in 3.7sec is not that impressive considering the power level and the price. Let's hope it does better in final form. No I do not hate this car.
Doh! Lexus is underrating it. It will hit 0-60 in low to flat 3s. 1/4 mile in low-11s when the tests come out.
It certainly gave GT-R a royal a** whooping around Nurburgring like no tommorow. The only car that is close is the Viper SRT10 ACR.

I strongly disagree about that comparison, compare a $400k all new super car LF-A vrs a $80K nissan? Never was meant to be for either cars designers and engineers, neither the nissan set their goals to compete with super cars (the 911 turbo was their benchmark) neither the lexus will downgrade in their goals to compete with a nissan gtr.
Its like daring to compare a bmw 335i to your corolla.....thats kinda a low blow comparison.
I was talking about the V Spec that will be a lot more expensive than the standard version.
