Toyota’s ads for the 2013 Auris already made headlines for featuring a model who identifies as a transgender woman. Now, the automaker produced another ad for the Auris featuring a transgendered singer from a Japanese band.
“DAS × AURIS BUTTOCKS DRIVE!!” is the name of the video. It was made for the recent “Daikanyama Art Street” art and music festival. Avu-chan is the 19-year old star of the commercial. She is of Japanese and African-American descent and identifies as a trans-woman. She is also the lead singer of Ziyoou-vachi (“Queen Bee”) which is a Japanese glamrock band.
