Kind of sucks that they did away with the Sport.

RAV4 XLE sounds strange

It's there - just a different name. Who buys a crossover for it's sportiness anyways?

People who think its sporty. I'd say only Mazda has the most "credible" "sporty" CUVs on the market. They actually handle decent for what they are. As far as mainstream CUVs go. I know there are higher end performance ones that do have performance.

its all marketing! You see "sport" or SE on almost anything. Heck there's a "S" Corolla :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2: Its just badges, spoilers etc. Woot for marketing!!

Then again with Akio at the helm maybe the sporty RAV4 will actually have decent handling. :dunno::dunno:

The Camry, Yaris and Sienna SE are more than just a spoiler and a badge. The suspension and steering are tuned differently.

And the Rav4 has gotten pretty good reviews for being sporty, from none other than Car &Driver.

True as time goes on Toyota is doing a little more. Like I said with Akio at the helm I'm sure it will be more "credible." But certainly no speed demon or canyon carver. That's fine, its not supposed to be, he just wants to add flavor to the driving of an otherwise dull car. They are mass market cars so its a mild tuning. But you know that:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Of course most customers are oblivious and don't really care they just see the "SE" and go wow my car is sporty when in reality its not. Just added flavor. I know Toyota isn't the only one. :thumbsup:

For most Toyota owners, who buys their cars for sportiness? :rofl: Anyway, the RAV4 was never a crossover vehicle technically, the Venza fits that mantra.

If manufacturers didn't offer trims, they'd make less money. Toyota obviously wants some hot fudge on that vanilla sometimes.

I think I'm going to have to get a bigger license plate for the back if I was going to get this since there is too much blank open space for the rear.

They probably come out with a hybrid version later on or just stick the current Camry hybrid engine in there and call it a day.

The CR-V has been dominant with one engine, perhaps that is their strategy now. Or they could throw a turbo later down the line like the Escape.
